How about this for a "technical issue"....firewall

I have a router thats blocking my server from hitting the net, and for some reason (curse I must carry) no one I know can help me open the port..lets say...succesfully. Anyone that could help me that would be great!

Edit = no reason to make all caps or use special keystrokes to set off this topic...no reason at all.

Let's start with the firewall you're using!

Server Side Solution
Freelancer utilizes the standard DirectPlay ports in order to play online, specifically, to connect to the Global Server. So make sure the following port range is open; 2302-2304 on the UDP settings.

Router Configuration
It would help to know who makes your router, but in the case of my linksys router it was as simple as typing my local ip in my browser to change settings and all. In my case, I had to head over to the advanced/Port Forwading page to change the necessary settings.
As for your specific router, take advantage of Google.com. It wil take you 10 seconds to find out exactly what you need to know, ;p

Hope this helps.
