Can multiple clients connect to server from behind router?
Greetings!
I have several PC's on a LAN connected to the Internet through a router/NAT. Yes, I am a Geek . The NAT makes all of our PC's look like they have the same IP address on the Internet (That's its whole purpose - many machines, only one IP).
My two sons and I have been connecting to the TOAD server for multiplayer action. But up until now only one of us has ever been on at a time. Then last night, my one son connectted to TOAD like usual. I then installed FL on a second machine on our home LAN and tried to connect as well. But TOAD would not show up on my list of active servers. Even after two refreshes. And my son is playing away on it next to me, so it is deffinately up.
So, as an experiment, my son logged off. I refreshed, but still no TOAD.
He then tried to re-connect, but now TOAD was missing from his list as well.
Two hours later and still no TOAD.
Any suggestions on what may be happening and whether we can even have multiple multiple connections to the same server from our LAN?
Thanks much.
