Stuck on Mission 3

Ok all,

Here is a real bummer. I'm stuck on Mission 3 in the game. Till now I've invested about 10 hours in it just searching around and getting the lay of the land. As well as upgrading my resources as much as possible for my level.

Unfortunatly I can't get past mission 3. Everytime I get to the Rhineland fighters, nothing happens. I search all over the system and nada. I understand the fighters are supposed to attack me and Juni, but they just sit there.

I've tried uninstalling and reloading the game, as well as playing around with the audio codecs, but nothing is helping. I'm tired of playing with this and hitting my head up against a wall.

Any help to be had here? Any infor would be appreciated.

Do you happen to have sound problems, if so this will cause the sound activated actions with the freighters not to happen. If you use Kazaa-Lite then you can see my other thread but basically just remove the Codec pack if you have it installed. This is the fix that worked for me since i had the same problem.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't have any real sound problems per se. I get all sounds and music while in space. The words are out of sync with the cutscenes though, but I can correct this by cutting back on the resolution for the most part.

Seems to me that this game wasn't quite ready to come out yet. With all of the sound problems I've been reading about. Heres hopes for a patch soon.

I have also read that if the problem occurs, just ram the Rheinland fighters. It appears that you can't get hurt from the crash but they can (a little) Just continue to ram them untill they are destroyed. You can take some loot and go ahead with the mission.

It's just from what I have read. I can't verify if it works. But perhaps you can try it.

Just bump in to the ships untill they explode ! .. that way you wont "lose" the game due to having shot at the creeps .. a waste of time you say ?? .. well then you should probably waste your time gettin' you hands on to the right MP3-decoder ..

had the same problem, it's a sound isssue with the codecs, unfortunately all i could do was mess around till i cleared up the problem, then they will engage you and you get to blast some rheinlander scum, enjoy

Bramcor,

Never said it was a waste of time to try a workaround for a bug....as for wasting my time getting the right codec files, I've tried all the fixes shown. If I don't have the correct one by now then Microsquish is pulling people's legs on their support site. I'm not sure how you meant your post...but I prefer to keep things on an even keel over all, so no blood no report.

Thanks for the responses people....I'll give the ramming a try. And see how that works. I'm upgrading my onboard sound to the Audigy in the next day or so for reasons other than those concerning this game....but I'll keep an eye out to see if this affects the game any.
