Lost my sound

I lost my sound yesterday but not my music in the game. So I reinstall, (and yes all my drivers are up to date), but even after the reinstall the sound continues to not work. I checked the settings in Options and everything is on.
Not sure what happened but one day I booted up the game and it was gone, and now its permanently gone even after reinstall.

Might sound stupid, but sometimes a friend of mine gets a similiar "bug" when he plays certain games. Check your volume control panel and ensure all the sliders are up at least halfway or so, and no "mute" checkbox is selected for any of them. Also, check out your audio properties in Windows (what version are you using?) to ensure that everything is selected that should be...

What sound card are you using? What Windows version?
