Locks on startup

Help!

Freelancer locks on startup!

duron 1.3 ghz
256 DDR ram
onboard vid <has worked fine with many other high detail games>

it will launch the freelancer picture, then nothing will happen. ive tried launching from cd and from HDD, but to no avail. i am forced to alt - f4 the picture away, and then it tells me to send a !%$#@& error report.

please help!

Ii am having this problem now as well. I have been modding however. I suspect I have a corrupt file that was somehow altered by one of the mods I did. I have restored everything, and am trying to find a solution other than full reinstall.

Have you modded anything?

Did either one of you load the newest Nvidia Detonator driver (43.45)???

I could not get Freelancer to run after loading this new driver on. I had to back up to my old Nvidia driver to get it running again.
