Anyone have a fix for the freezing up issue?

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

I had this trouble with the demo version... but i put it down to my CPU ovrheating... but all in all, i doubt that this was the problem. But i have recently just done a complete format and reinstall of my system, and the game is running fine without problem. Maybe you have a conflict with some vestigal remnants of some other software?

Yeh this is a strange problem indeed. I had the game running fine not freezing....but unfortunately I was without sound. I fixed sound and reinstalled etcetra. Now I have this freezing problem that seems to happen 95% more during the ingame cutscences and when your landed on planets (but only in certain scenes on certain planets such as Rheinland bars for example). It will rarely happen during in game flight. If I just wait a bit it will pull out of the freeze.

I'm thinking there is something specific that is triggering the freeze. My educated guess says the onboard soundcard on my MSI KT4 Ultra. Anyone else have any ideas?

Well, after microsoft's wonderful fix for my problem (which was to go buy a new sound card) I decided to format and reload my system. The only things I have loaded so far are the latest drivers for the components. So far so good. I have been playing for 2 hours with no lockup. Knock on wood.
