moving server account info

So i was setting up my server with firedaemon, but it managed to "forget" where the previous accounts info was, or knows it's there and doesn't want to use it, or something. AFAIK all the account info stuff is in ~\mydocs\my games\freelancer\Accts\MultiPlayer. So, how do i get the server as it's running now to see all the accounts sitting there in that folder?

Did you log in the machine using the same user name when you launched the server?

yeah, same everything.. I just closed it, fixed firedeamon up, and then launched it again. When i went to login my characters weren't there, and when i checked the account info there was nothing. Well, save for an empy number that was me.

Not sure how that utility works, but if there is a filed that firedeamon uses for an account name to lauch the app with, make sure it's the same one that you used when you first lauched the server. Sounds like its using a different account, maybe the system, so it can't find those users in the same path.

For a good explanation of where user accounts are stored, check out the readme file in the Extras folder on the CD.

that sounds promising, i'll check it out.

ok, you were right RevRaz. Since FireDaemon runs apps as services, they fall under the SYSTEM user, rather than whoever i'm running as. The thing creates another my games\blah\ under LocalService\SYSTEM'S Documents. Anyway, thanks for the help.

You should be able to copy the one's under your User path and put them in the System created path, no? That should allow you to keep the one's you currenty have.

Try this:

Working directory: Full path to freelancer EXE folder
Executeable: Full path and filename to flserver.exe
Parameters: /C /P2302

- Once you install the service, go to the service control panel and stop it ..
- double click on the service to bring up the properties
- select the logon tab
- select "this account" and put in the username and password of a valid account on the system.

start the service!!

You can add the Account info under the Windows Services area.

yeah, i got it running earlier. I just copied the Multiplayer folder under Administrator over to the SYSTEM location, it works like a charm.
