Sorry guys, but the multiplayer global server is currently down so you all won't be able to play using the ingame browser. Don't fret! You can connect to your favourite Freelancer server as long as you know its IP address and port number. There are two methods. The first method is simply going to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE, doubleclicking fldirectip.hta, and entering the IP address of the server and the port number it is using. The second method is simply to add this command to your Freelancer shortcut in the TARGET field:
-sIPADDRESSORT
"IPADDRESS" is where the IP of your server should go and "PORT" is where the port number goes. Duh.
Note that the default port number used in Freelancer is 2300. So now your target field should now look similar to this:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe" -s111.111.111.111:2300

now to find out the ip of the server i always play on :S ?

i just tried all that and it still doesnt work,i run my own server so has that got anything to do with it,plz help cos i wanna play the game.lol

doesnt seem to work tho, it just loads up freelancer , en goes into the menu instead of connecting to the server
so there is now way i can connect to any server withouth the damn global server being available ?
thats just plain BS
if they aint gonna adjust alot of stuff im gonna ditch the game
even tho i love it
but the troubles its causing me aint worth it imho

how ? and what did you do wrong ? perhaps i made the same mistake

double click on fldirectip in the exe folder of the game.then when u enter ur ip address put in (for example 217.35.654.25).then click the add server button thats there then start the game and it should work,it did for me anyway m8.lol.

Kenny, when you did this did it launch straight into the game on the server you entered or did it still present you with the menu?
