Hi all,
let me shed some more light on server hosting based on troubles I had setting it up.
Accourding to the DA info the server would need ports UDP 2302-2304 forwarded and thats all they mention (that I found). But the game uses the DirectPlay and MS states the ports to be forwarded are 6073 UDP (this is dpnsrv or DPlay server application). Next is a range of ports 2302 - 2400 UDP In and Out and another one is 2002 and sometimes 2003 which I believe (according to log on my firewall) for UDP ping. I was unable to confirm the game used any kind of TCP connection thou.
One more thing that I found is if your router is a hardware one (no linux box or win server with NAT) and it supports UPnP you better disable it. Game requires DX9 to run (not sure if its for network as well or just for gfx) MS states that UPnP implementation in that version of DX is newer and most routers dont interpret the communication correctly.
Hope that helped.
BTW. If you're looking for a reliable server thats dedicated and up 24/7 with MP accounts backing up every hour you might give a try my server (Nitemare's Domain 193.77.155.201).

Yep the IP is static. Ports are standard 2302 through 2400.
I just tried monitoring the flserver with TDIMon and TCPView and all I can see is the following:
- the only port flserver communicates at (data transfer) is 2302 UDP
- port that dpnsvr uses constantly is 6073 UDP and then some more but those are dynamic and above 50K range UDP
- ports 2001 and 2002 UDP are also opened by flserver but Im not sure whats their use
- there are 3 more ports opened by flserver but can ignore those since they are dynamic and vary in range (around 10K 50K or 60K) so just ignore
I also checked UPnP configuration (when I had it enabled) and here is what UPnP opened for the game (2001, 6073 and 2302 all udp). As I said I suspect 200x isnt gameplay related but could be to test gameserver presence and/or latency.
The thing I myself am alot more interested in is what all those that run dedicated servers experience regarding bandwidth usage. Please state your experiences (num. players - average badwidth/peak bandwidth and possibly processor allocation). Thanks in advance!

Sound's like you have alot of port's open! Do you really need that many? What do they recommend becuae having that many open is going to eat up alot of UDP traffic is all! If you guy's have some documenttation on the server info let me know or if their some on the site and I have over looked it let me know!
