Will people "Roleplay" in freelancer?

Want help in running a persistent server? Want to setup a gaming session? Look no further!

Oh yes! I will be roleplaying the entire time save for the necessary OOC questions about the game mechanics for the beginners (which I will handle in private messages anyway)

I have a few friends who will be playing on my server regularly on thursday evenings and sporadically when we have time other nights/weekends when we aren't busy with our Roleplay DAoC guild.

My server will be called The Red Branch and will be roleplay only (clearly stated in the description)

I am undecided whether to allow player killing. Can I enable/disable it at will without affecting the server in any other way?

IP will be 10.0.0.100 if any are interested

A roleplaying server sounds great to me. I tend to play exclusively on either player-ran RP servers for games like Ultima Online, or with like minded RPers as I will be in Star Wars Galaxies.

It would be fun to take my love for Privateer/Freelancer to the next level by having a chance to RP a character in the Freelancer world.

As for PvP, I think it should be open game. As long as the admin can control access to the server with a password, and screens who joins the server, there shouldn't be a problem with mass murderers. PvP can be lots of fun, even on RP servers.

Also a thing to remember in Freelancer, if you go off randomly killing everyone, you'll make a lot of groups angry with you, and make you KOS.
