Complete Newb

Hi all!

I have only recently started playing Freelancer and I think it is truely a great game.

I have read around different forums about guilds/alliances of people who let you hire them for a fee to escort you, battle on your side and defend your planet/base.

My question is regarding the last of these tasks. Since these guilds offer protection of one's base, does that mean that in Multiplayer, players can build or purchase bases? Does that mean that once you log off, the multiplayer universe continues with other players or is each MP game individual?

And as I am on the subject, what are the differences, if any, between single player and multiplayer FL universe and functionality (in unmodded game)? More places to visit? More levels to reach? More ships?

I am such a newb, eh?

I appreciate your help,

LeoVirgo - Level 5 FL

You cant (sadly) own bases in freelancer.

but whith mods you can fly capital ships, dont do it online unless the server specifically allows it or they will ban you

Multiplayer is meant as a persistent universe.

Multiplayer universe is exactly the same as singleplayer, just no story mode.

Take a Pick!

mp universe is the same as non STORYLINE sp and a couple notable differences in actually playing are also present
(any more info would be a spoiler)
