The most important thing about flying a Drake vs. a VHF is to NEVER ever stop moving and turning, even when you're firing. Pop off a few shots and move again. Do your best to keep your enemy in a turning dogfight, because if they get a good distance away and are able to make a full pass at you...well your Drake will be no more. With a Drake, if you are a good pilot, you can manage to out turn and stay right behind most other fighters in the game.
As for your loadout, the most common VHF killing setup involves several shield busters (missiles preferabbly because you wont have enough time to take down their shields with pulse weapons) a catapult missile, and most importantly, a Ripper mine dispenser. It will take you some time to kill a semi skilled pilot, but if you have a steady hand and some patience, your Drake will be king.
