Banned member trouble

I have banned a member from my server. He keeps contacting me about how he's gonna mess up my server. He claims he can ban members and stuff, is there a way for him to gain control of my server like this? I'm not aware of one. But I also wan't aware of a way to ban protect yourslef. Because while he was on my server I was not able to kick or ban him. I had to shut down server to ban him - I'm not sure if this was a momentary glitch, or if he was running something. He also claims he has a program that allows him to run two freelancer accounts on one computer. I'm tending to think he's full of it. But I was just wondering if anybody know of something like that out there. Thanks

Banning an account is as simple as placing an empty file simply name "banned" in the account directory. You should be using IFSO to either ban this character or at the least, match the directory name to the character name (through the View Player button in the Players tab). Using FLAC can give you a very good connect log. So even if he deletes his character, the character name is still listed next to the directory name of his account. Also FLAC will enact an IP address block so unless he's dynamic, he's history.

If he is gaining access around these things then he's far more into your server than you'll ever like.

I will email you some more thoughts and suggestions. No need to give hackers and other script kiddies ideas of what can and can't be done. (hint, hint, we need a sysadmin only forum!)

I know Skyevalen of the Hunters Association {HA1} server was working on a Server Admin Only forum idea. I will check with him on this.
