Need Multiplayer Help

Hi,

Well I have played the single player game of FreeLancer but I have never tried Multiplayer due to my Internet connection. We finally have gotten BroadBand in my area though and I was wondering how I should start Multiplayer? Are there certain servers I should play on ?Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to get started? Do you just grab a random server out there or is there some type of system to use in picking the right one?

Thanks,
Pig

Depends upon how good at playing you are at the moment. If you can hold your own against NPC's without trouble - then go online

Some servers are VERY lively - which means that its a good place to play as you can interact with others. However, they also tend to attract "clans" who might not think twice of blowing your butt away for not handing over money/cargo....which can kill your character off if you are not used to making money.

There are many older servers that I honestly haven't checked out for a while, ones which are probabily quieter and fairly friendly. I used to play when i first started on the [OGZr Geezers In Space server - which was cool, slow and quiet - but with enough people that you got on with them okay. It was a good place to "learn" how to play the game in MP better, before heading on to more lively servers. Make a choice and try one of the many many servers, if its not what your after - leave it and choose another.

Try the new server:
Yukanojo's Universe.
The server is brand new and nota lot of people joined it yet, so its a good idea to be one of the first few to join a server. I play as [XDr._Twich on the server if you need any help buddy.

You know which server rocks?
The [5thW FL :: www.5thss.com server. n00bs should try it out.
If you ever cross my trade path, don't be afraid to ask for a few bucks.

You could try Boston. We couldn't get Chips to play because he is soooo busy! At least we have longevity. Boston Freelancer server is one year old this month!

You can also give 3NET server a try, although it only started February this year, it runs on a HP Proliant server with 2x Xeon CPUs, 2 HDD UW2 SCSI RAID 0 and featuring a Gigabit OF uplink, so it should be very much "lag free". Also I heard Earendil's Boston server is a sweet one
