OK, just buy the software it's better. Untill then, when you launch FL client choose Multiplayer and when asked to choose between Internet and LAN choose LAN, then in a couple of seconds your server should show up in the list. If this doesn't work try the -s parameter (see readme.rtf/page 3/lines 45-46 on the CD) as a workaround. If not even works then it means your server isn't working right. To make sure your server is up'n working try doing the following procedure:
1. Start a DOS prompt
2. Type netstat -an (shows listening ports for TCP/UDP)
3. In the list displayed you should fine a line similar to this:
" UDP 10.11.0.177:2302 *:*"
where 2302 is the port you chose to run FLServer on (for details on chosing the port of the server please refer to the readme.htm on the CD)
If no such line is present then this means the server failed to bind it'self to any port or IP address.
The previous procedure is supplied presuming you have MS Windows 2K/XP/2K3, if not use some other util to tell you which UDP ports your computer listens on.
