Want to play RealSpace 2.2 online...

I just went through the Real Space 2.2 mod in SP mode and it was fantastic! Id love to find a good server running it online. The game still shows as version 1.0 and I'm fairly certain if I just picked one there would be problems. Any suggestions?

somebody correct me if i'm wrong (i've never actually tried this mod), but i beleive that since the mod changes only visuals you should be able to use it anywhere.
i could be wrong, so wait till someone else says something.

From the mod readme, so......

- New lighting map for all systems
- Removed lens flares and sun spines
- Increased loot from mining
- Brighter lights for tradelanes
- Increased variety of ships in all space
- Ai uses standard shields
- Removed infinite power from Ai
- Added damage to ship explosions
- Upgraded the house ships in Liberty
- Updated infocards on Liberty ships
- New ship speed/cruise stats by class
- Removed weapon class requirements
- New economy with higher payoffs

So it changes more than just visuals. Are there any RealSpace servers our there?

It deffinately changes more than just the lighting. This is a fabulous MOD. It offers three difficulty settings. I just went through it on hard and it was more challenging. I had to run for my life a couple times. The ships are faster, have better weaponry and the pilot levels are increased accordingly. I ran into lvl 6-8 Liberty Rouges in New York System. Also some of the prices and level requirements for ships are augmented. Speeds too are different for light / heavy fighters. Id like to see speed variations between different versions of the same class ship ie..different speeds for the Starflyer and Patriot rather than the same. Chips did a bang up job with this MOD. It plays superbly in the SP mode and totally improves the FL experience. At least I think it's a Chips MOD.

Anyway..if I could find a server running Real Space 2.2 with a alright ping I'm there in a heart-beat.

lol - its EOA players consortium - made by louva Deus. I had no part in any part of it..........

The options come curtsey of IGx89 - who made FLMM. (as in the options were an addition to the functions of FLMM which made the difficulty settings change.)

Hmm..I didnt' realize the options were merely an FLMM function. Id not seen it on the other MODs like Evolutions so figured it was part of the Real Space 2.2 Mod. Still, it is nice to be able to set it to HARD. Now all they need is a ver hard or BRUTAL setting. BTW do you know what the 'easy-hard' settings do exactly? I'm don't think it made the pilots fly any better...well maybe a little. Does it give them a bonus for damage n what not or does it give the players a handycap?

You can play online with the Lite version on almost any server even ones with mods. Just activate it last if you are playing with other mods. There are no official Real Space servers up but there are 4 or 5 mods in development that are either based on or including this mod in them which you may be able to find servers for when they are released.

Sweeeeeeeeeeet! I can't wait for someone to fire up a RS2.2 server. Will be a blast. heh. And there's more Real Space based Mods on the way eh? It feels like Christmas!
