Combat Tactics

I think my tactics is VERY dumb: i'm have a Titan ship with 6xSUNFRENZY-2 Guns and Class 10 Armor. My tactics is just fly and kill (i'm got over 3500 kills in a 50 hours playing!). Please give me a hint about tactics.

tactics... uhmmm... tactics... i ain't know...

i do only div 43 missions in a dagger and that's all

I like the Tizona del Cid cannons for a VHF. They are, in my opinion, the best weapon for dropping an opponent's shields. Then again, I usually fly a Banshee, so I don't use them that often.

Oh yes... EMPs! I remember it... When i was level 34 and not such skilled, as now, i have bought 6 x Tizona Del Cid as "usual" guns and long was surprised, why they such expensive and such weak. )))))

wow... 6 tiz on your fighter... what the... 1 shot and the shield is totaly gone... uhmm, this can also be done woth lesser tiz on the fighter...

6x firestalker missiles on a fighter, that's fun

later replaced some to cannonball launchers and a tiz... that was better in fights, and less expensive

These are what I call 'unbalanced' loadouts. That is, they invite a veteran player to explore the weakness of the config.

For instance, when you see a guy who doesn't have at least a cutter mine, you can stop and turn at will. It can sometimes give you an edge. Or, if you see a loadout like 6TDC+sunslayer, all you have to do is refuse to go head on, and you've basically won. Some people use pure TDC/missile loadouts, like 4 TDC and 2 firestalkers. These are very hard to beat, but the trouble with them is that when the tracking bug strikes, they always lose. It's not good to trust your fate to a lack of lag, or to a head on pass. It's best to be capable in all situations.

Mine is typically 2TDC, Hornet, Ripper, Cball, 2 cannons and 1 blaster. I've seen many other effective loadouts, but i feel the versatility of the CD, the insta-kill of the Cball, and the all-weather performance of the nomads gives me many options in a fight, that I can exploit when i need to. If the counter-missile skills of the oponent are very good I can just decide not to use my cball, and still do alot of damage with my guns. It's all about having options...

exactly noone uses a loadout like that .which is why it would be fun to try
its useless for anything but pvp but it wont cost anything to try we have spare tdcs on our supply ships and its just a bit of fun anyway
plus if someone hasnt scanned you the comments on shields dropping so quick should be fun as well

Yes, i know - this loadout is unbalanced and very stupid. My current loadout is 6xSunFrenzy-2, best thruster and CMs. I don't use a missiles, i find that my accuracy from guns is great, and missiles are not so effective.

and if u find urself as the underdog in the fight u will loose, by the lack off missiles

my outload is mostly maded by 2 missile launchers, a emp-missile (when in the class off weap class) and a non-stalker... my guns outload can be quite div. co'z i use always 1 stungun in it ('sometimes 2, when no use off emp-missile) and the others are for flak only (fast fire, low fire, same speed with stungun iff possible, otherwhise 50m/s div)

my loadout

4 nomad cannons
2 tiz
or 1 tiz and 1 cannonball (but this is verry expensive - used only during wartime)
1 firekiss turret
1 ripper mine (just for show - verry expensive - used only during wartime)
1 advenced cm

this is on an eagle.

You need to up the power in your weapons, try something along the lines of:
2x Tizona Del Cid
2x Any Classified Weapon
2x Nomad Enerygy Cannon
And get a level 10 sheild from planet crete in gamma.

There is a guide to combat at the mercenary navy online, there is also a full weapons database incase you dont know where to get the above weapons

Why not 4x Nomad Energy Cannon? Is it because the classified weapons do more damage when you only have time to get one shot off (since their firing rate is 2.00)?

My typical loadout:

2x TDCs
2x Nomad blasters(act as tracers for the TDCs)
1x Cball
1x Firestalker
1x Hornet CD
1x Adv. CM
1x Ripper mine(for show, Expensive ammo and not very reliable, for me at least)

With this loadout I just need to get thier shields nearly down before my missles strike as the firestalker will finish off any shield energy left and the Cball will destroy thier ship. It is very costly though but the nomad blaster let me do missions without the need to use ammo so I can easily gain back credits that way.

I dont really know why i prefer the classifeds, your right they do more damage but they are a lot slower and higher energy. But I just prefer the firing rate on them aswell, besides they look good Ok I agree 4 nomads it is then
