nah.. folks just got tired of the crap and moved to other servers.

I still check this forum once in a great while, but I fly on a server that has its own forum and both server and forum are going strong.

90% of new pilots on a certain server left after a few days because of certain bullies. If anything has contributed to the demise of quality on certain servers, then I would say that is your reason.

The sad thing is, many pilots left the game entirely because they were sickened by the childish behaviour. MP freelancer has many flaws as a game. The only thing that makes it worthwhile to me is the interaction between factions and players. I was lucky to find a server where that interaction is far above the 3rd grade level that Hairy is referring to as 'cool'.

well, you have to be an absolute terminal retard to not be able to beat each and every NPC in Freelancer with your eyes closed. NEO gave people a reason to improve upon their dogfighting skills and stand up for themselves (not wanting to pay tolls and the like), and your ignorant ass is no different than the rest, so you don't need to present any arguments to me, pal.

Ninety percent of the population wanted to run around in humpbacks and dromedaries, moving diamonds from bautzen to new tokyo to make some money (but like a bunch of kn0bs, you guys had no idea why you were making money, nor did you have any idea of what you wanted to buy thereafter). The remaining 10% were guys like NEO, seeing the good in capitalizing upon these morons. The problem with NEO is that we were not only unbeatable, but brash and rude, and almost always unwilling to compromise with anybody (when one holds all the cards, the terms of compromise become the terms of the cardholder's whim anyway, right? yes). There's your anomaly and no one knew how to solve it, so they bitc'hed and ran a nail straight through this community. It's all about how big the sides are. The big guy's foot on the little guy's head; the drive of popular dissatisfaction will always instigate circumstances like these. I know, because I've been on both sides of this equation.

hmmn... i dont know what this NEO clans did, but personally, i like the idea of a server with bullies, because then you'll have a reason to play: beat the crap out of them and crush them, then after that you'll be the big bully (hehehe), but of course all in the context of the game, the server rules must be followed which is sometimes quite easy and simple like no pvp in new york. i think these rules are there to prevent noobs and would be bullies to quit right away because they dont have a fighting chance, then they will think that this server sucks, and where would be the fun in that killing starfliers with your eagle. but outside new york then its a different ballgame. and "The big guy's foot on the little guy's head" will not always be the case because after 20 hrs of gameplay the little guy will get meaner and bigger, by then the not-so-big guy will pay. and guys lets not forget that this is only a game, lets have fun!

See? This is the exact same reason why NEOs theads are outlawed. This guy is saying everything that went wrong is NEO's fault, I mean look at him, he saying Elite being hacked is NEO's fault.
