How to get filthy rich in less than an hour (only in MP)

> Starting in New York, buy another Justice Mk I cannon, leaving you with $1,500 credits.
> Leave Manhattan, and blow up any transports/trains/freighters you see, but after EACH one select a new character, but select the player you were just using
> When youve got a full cargo hold sell the stuff over at Baltimore Shipyard (you get more for stuff like Beryllium, Optical Chips, Pharmaceuticals, etc.) Repeat this till youve got about 25k (it doesnt take long trust me - it took me less than 1/2 an hour to get 25k, blowing up transports full of Optical Chips, Light Arms, Niobium(very nice) and Luxury Consumer Goods)
> When youve got enough, buy a Rhino and a cargo hold full of Luxury Consumer Goods from Planet Manhattan.
> Then set the best path to sector 5D in the Hokkaido system.
> When you get there, land on Ainu Depot (the GC base - you'll be automatically neutral with these)
> Sell your Luxury Consumer Goods for $1440k each. You'll now have about 110k. Then buy a hold full of Cardamine and head back to Manhattan.
> On the way back, stop off at Planet New Tokyo and buy a Drone (the Kusari freighter) then fill up the rest of your cargo hold with Optical Chips (buy for $88 and sell at Baltimore Shipyard for $216) while you're there.
> Then make your way back, being careful not to be scanned by Police and Navy.
> When you get to Baltimore Shipyard (its enroute to Manhattan from the Colorado gate) sell your Optical Chips. You'll now have about 90k.
> Then sell the Cardamine at Planet Manhattan for $1500. You will now have about 230k.
> Repeat till you're filthy rich! And at 230k a time for only 5 system jumps, you can't grumble!

However, on the second time round, you can then buy a full hold in your drone of Cardamine, that way your making an extra $1100 x 95= $105k

Now you can get the ship that every trader has been after: THE CSV
Click here to download THE trader's ship!
With a cargo hold of about 80000, there's no stopping you getting millions from one trade run, especially the one above!

If you get bored with this trade route, buy Luxury Consumer Goods from Planet New Tokyo for $810 each, then sell at Ainu Depot for $1440 each!

*EDIT 1*
1) Placed the bit at the bottom about being bored

*EDIT 2*
1) Added the paragraph between "If you get bored" and the trade route tactics
2) Put the bit about the CSV

CSV

Post Tue Nov 11, 2003 3:27 pm

amazin lol. Ive been playing on my LAN server since you posted this thread about 3 hours ago and I now have over 3 million and Ive only done it 8 or 9 times.

But personally on the second time I did it i preferred to buy niobium from New Tokyo and sell it on at Manhattan for 911 credits. You make about 400 credits on each niobium, so maybe you could add that!

-edit- added the 2nd paragraph

cool.
I didnt like the "F1" trick you suggested though, its kinda anti RPG. Here is some idea for the ones who got bored from trading:
Take that drone to Sigma 13, you have there 2 GMG bases and brushel(i think) station. Just terrorize those poor GMGs jumping from one base to another. Taking out the cargo from trains and selling it on one of the 3 bases. pluse all the wrecks are there. When you finished you have some money to buy better ship and weps from the "bad" guys coz you did a good job for them. Both Outcasts and Corsairs are friendly. One tip: dont blow-up the trains just shot at the cargo, that way you last longer.

Happy pirating!

Very nice money making tatic

First off, you can just trade between new tokyo and hokaido. Lux consumer goods from roppongi station or planet tokyo to ainu base, cardamine from ainu base to roppongi station. since you're going between 2 systems, you're actually making more creds in less time. 400 per cardamine and 600 per lux consumer goods.

Niobium can be sold at that ring shipyard in new berlin for over 1000 creds, then you can purchase diamonds from new berlin and haul back to new tokyo. This route will take you between 4 systems only, so it's also a good run to make, and more exciting run.

@Captain Taylor - You might as well do the first bit (getting 25k, buying a Rhino and Luxury Consumer Goods, heading to Ainu), that way you're gonna make the first 110k (ish) for just heading to the favourite trade route. Its a very cost effective trade route. I used to trade Light Arms from Detroit to Malta, then sell the Cardamine I got from there at Manhattan, but it wasn't as cost effective as this one.

@moby - I agree that the F1 trick is a little bit skanky, but what would you prefer to do: 1) Do 2K missions for the Liberty peeps or 2) Blow up some transports and make about 10k (in a Starflier) from just one or two transports/freighters? It's a matter of choice at the end of the day, so, in the words of that Blind Date voiceover guy, "The choice (pause) is yours!" lol

Theres a mod now for a CSV, did u see it on TLR homepage? I'm definitly gonna download when I get home!

I've just done a quick calculation on the Windows Calculator thingy, and if you can afford to fill your CSV with the cargo listed above, you'll get, hold on, take a deep breath:

$920,000,000 (920 million) credits from doing this trade run ONCE! (ie there and back)

I can't believe it. I'm gonna put my keyboard upside down now so I'll shut up about this lol! BUT $920,000,000 credits! Woohoo! You'd be the highest rank on the server for a loooooooooooooooooooooong time lol!

CSV

Post Wed Nov 12, 2003 2:19 pm

ive downloaded the CSV mod but as of yet have not been able to fill up my cargo hold with anything, I just dont have enough credits, after all a CSV's hold full of Cardamine from Ainu would cost 33.6million credits. Its something to attain for, and even trading things like oxygen/water in a CSV still fetch a lot of money, after all, if you only make 2 credits on 1 item, then you still get 160k with a hold full with a CSV!

1. i hate trading, i miss the fighting in their... and get rich in this short therm isn't that right... i maded with fighting in 1.5 hours with missions only a sabre... i was banned for making to much money in such a short therm... and being to good ...

if ur good in freelancing, just start in a unmodded server where u begin with 2k, buy/sell weaps, nano/batts and shields and do a 5k or better mission with it against rogues, and i did that... i do now mostly an other way, start piracy in my own, and don't use that weak F1 key and select ur char again, that's just let other know that ur not good in freelancer... so don't say that i'm not good, co'z i did missions up to 245k missions in a dagger...

it's nice to say this to newbies, but i would say something else to them....
find first out what u like, fighting or trading... if it's trading, i can't help them, co'z i hate trading...

if it is fighting, i help them sometimes... made pirates off them... so they learn how to fight and how to act... i'm a fighter, not a trader...

If u c some1 in a dagger make fireballs from hunters it can be me

doing 245k missions is good i have to admit, i used to do them all the time in my drake. But i much prefer to make millions from one trade route (see above - you could make $920mil with a CSV and one trade route )

Why do that F1 exploit? Just grab the loot, get on the tradelane and go dock somewhere else.
Come back and they've forgotten you! Isn't that cheezy/unrealistic/easy enough?
I've blown up the Depots near Newark and done this more times than I can count.
The Polymers I haul to Baltimore, the Hydrocarbons I take to Detroit, and then
bring back to Newark. Transports are not that different from Depots.

BTW: How much does that CSV hold anyways??

"Got anything for me?" - Trent, A.K.A. 'Mr. Eloquent'

Edit:
V - @Papa, "rep-saving F1 sneak" the F1 doesn't save yer rep any, just gets them to stop shootin!
......(that would be a *bad* thing anyways since yer doin this to get freindlier with criminals!)

Doing trade runs and F1 tricks are cheap and easy (in the case of the latter, unethical)
I'd prefer straght-down missions, or, in my case, pure Piracy. Because if you're a *true* pirate, you wouldn't hide behind a lower-than-low rep-saving F1 sneak.

EDIT: Sure the CSV is great, but I don't think you'll find a non-mod server that allows it's use. How much cargo space does it have, anyway?

EDIT #2: Has no one but me discovered the Detroit > Montezuma side arms run?

Yes, there is

Post Wed Nov 12, 2003 10:47 pm

a good one...but i have a better one! used this in sp mode
1st. get neutral < with consairs and britonia police/navy
2nd. grab a freighter...i used humpback...cause it has 250 cargo....anyway
3rd. go to New London, pick up Light Arms
4th. jump to Omega-5, Cadiz base
5th. dock, sell light arms; get a cool 300,000 credits
6th. pick up artifacts...run back to New London; dock; sell artifacts; get roughly...100,000 credits (i think)

just repeat till happy
