Direct Connect

I am have server IP address and I want to directly connect to them. In the read me it says to put in a command line in the shortcut. Maybe I'm just missing something but I need a little more depth than that. If anyone can help. Let me know.

freelancer -sXXX.XXX.XXX.XXX { : PORT }
Freelancer wont connect directly to that IP, must likely it will be shown on top of the list, or you can chooce LAN and see only the above server.

Well I appreciate the attempt but that is exactly what the read me says. I need to know where that command line goes. Thanks.

Create a NEW shortcut for Freelancer. It should be a copy of the FL shortcut that is under start, under Programs, etc. Open the shortcut properties. I have found you can do this through the file manager/explorer only. Not through a right-click of the NEW shortcut in Start menu itself. Add the information moby posted above in the box next to Target. If there are quotes in the box, stay WITHIN them. Good luck...

By the way if it is my server (or any server whose IP address is NOT static) realize I make my IP address dynamic so players need to connect to the global server to log onto Boston.

Hmmm...I dunno. That's what I was trying earlier so I tried it again and I get a message "The name 'C:\...blah blah blah...' specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct." It is within the quotation marks and everything. Any ideas?

Why don't you display here exactly what you have in the Target box?

Ok, I got it figured out. Saw a post on the jolt forums and it worked. The -s<IP> has to be OUTSIDE the quotes. Works fine now. Thanks for the help.
