multiplayer accounts! ??

ok i played round a mates we ran a server and played for hours but then we wanted to change the server from that compuuter to another computer so we ran server on a laptop, then i noticed now when we logged in new server none of our details are held on our own computer they are all on the sever so we copy and paste all the info over to laptop, and play for like 24 hrs straight, great game but

i had to format this machine i didnt know about the saving of the number thing!! and wiped the machine now i have the saved server info with my account!! and i even copy and pasted the whole freelancer folder to a spare hard drive but when putting all this together i couldnt see my account

have i lost it forever i had loads of dosh ? is there any way of renaming numbers and names ? to get me back ?

p.s

id like to run a server on my mates computer and then conect to it from mine accross the internet in a nice explanation can some one tell me how ?

why do today what you can put off till tomorrow

Freelancer save files are stored in your documents folder under "My Games".
Check out the Ioncross character editor from Joe Boomz, you can download it here or from the Ioncross site, he has made a lot of cool utilities for admining a server, create a new character and then edit it to give you your lost cash. that's the only way I can think of, without your MP id number you're S.O.L. otherwise.

1. use Ioncross and find the folder thats yours and move it out of the mydocs/games/freelancer folder to another folder.

2. start the server and join and then make the exact same named characters.

3. Close the server and find the folder for those new characters and delete every FL file but Not the name file, then copy the backup FL's in to that folder you made earlier.

4. restart the server and your characters should be back.

Pinger's idea is even better, just remember to write down your new MP ID# so you don't have to go through this again.
