Killzone as I told you before, your "Unique ship" is a mod, and mods are not allowed on Browclopsia, I took screenshots of my scans and Our conversation but I didn't report you because I thought you'd heed what I told you about mods on the server, but if your going to continue to use that mod on Browclopsia, I'll forward the screen shots to the admin.

Mate, Ill say this once as not to ruin me mates thread: That ship IS NOT a mod!! Ok? I wouldnt dream of modding!
Its not my damn problem my comp has screwy idea of what it should be!

No fighter can mount 8 guns, if it's not a mod then you have a conveniently corrupted ini, anyway it doesn't matter, Meiyo has decided to pull the plug November 10th, so Browclopsia soon will be no more... At lot of Browclopsians have moved to IONCROSS and Excelsia, and some are playing Boston.

Change is the only constant in the universe.

I'll take note of those servers--I intend on going online (or trying to anyway) with Freelancer in the next couple days.

IONCROSS and Excelcia are both modded servers, Excelcia has a detailed roleplaying theme going on, If your just starting multiplayer, I'd recommend Boston, before getting into mods and modded servers.

I'll definitely take a look at the non-modded servers first. I'm still in the "Fresh and new" phase of owning FL, so I don't think mods are for me...not yet.

Thanks for the info, and maybe I'll catch some of you online!

Although I did notice the only TLR-affiliated server under 300ms ping is 24/7 Proxima Dedicated. Stupid 56K modem. *picks up a sledgehammer and smacks his modem with it a few times*

Chronosv2, I'm curious what my server's ping is from your location (roughly where in the US?). My server is TLR affiliated as well.

Yes, I am seeing a trickle of Browclopsians. They are welcome of course. As for the mod part I have started server-side mods ONLY! In the far future if I like a mod or if I get too bored or if I am otherwise convinced (notice a lot of ifs!) I may consider the big mods like Victor's. But then I like the fact anyone can play on the server out of the box. With the server side mods it just may be a little harder than a completely unmodded server. Nevertheless with the "no PvP in Liberty, not even intent" rule and the ever helpful server police, the Argonian Ryders, even newbies can find the server comfortable.

I will let those that consider client side mods know that's cheating and are not allowed on the server. It isn't fair to other players and I have no problem banning someone even if they get booted by the patch or Lancerguard. Yet my email address is available to start a dialogue if you wish.

For all server information peruse the Argonian Ryders forums here and the server news in the "Select new character" screen on the server. I am always open to good ideas and already a fellow Browclopsian, [SD Wasabe, has proposed a few.

Actually, I was on Boston last night with a friend. It worked quite well, considering I'm in Northern KY and had a ping hovering around the 300 mark. Although I almost constantly got the red "Network Problem" icon in space. I'm beginning to learn not to count pings from a modem as final anymore, since I saw Proxima was in the 500s last night.

I'll probably stick with Boston. I had some fun there, albeit short since something happened to my connection last night.

Awesome server I might add.

And I like the "No PvP in Liberty, not even intent" rule. Lets us low-level people get started.

Thanks for the kind words! Be very worried outside of Liberty though! I would like to make it much harder than it currently is. But that will be implemented slowly, over time. Time I have as I don't currently have any intention of shutting the server down. Go Boston!

If I remember correctly yellow lag shows up on my LAN (ping of 0!) at about 200 to 300 msec load. Red lag shows up at about 400 to 500 msec load. Since ping is nothing for me my total latency is just the load. On your 'puter your total latency, which manifests itself as the yellow or red lag symbol, is the addition of the ping and server load. Usually when the server is in the teens load can be 70 to 150 msec (the average range). So that would seem about right you getting a red lag indication. Of course all this goes out the window when a modder comes on. Just one modder with 13 players can double the server load. Once with at least three modders and a full server (21 players at one point) I had a load of over 8000 msecs! So with my low ping if I get lag playing, then I know something is wrong. Anyway, just some ramblings.

I honestly didn't know that server load was factored into the lag indicator. Yeah, most of the time it's red, but suprisingly it hasn't seemed too bad.

And simply put, I have fun on the server, even with the latency issues at hand. If I can lug my PC to a friend's house I may get a temporary 1-night broadband connection. If thats the case you'll probably see me on a lot. LOL

Anyway, thanks for the info!
