@ frobozz building up on multiple servers you should have heard what i said when i found out about elite
i had spread my time across 3 main servers calgary seattle and elite , hmm all i would have needed was browclops for the full set

Hehe! I played on some others infrequently but my main servers were Elite and my own server. Now I have to switch to Proxima. At least with my own server I know when it will go down! (which should be in a long time from now, I hope)

Frobozz, players on my server are considering RPG. See here for a beginning discussion on RPG. Please feel free to add your comments as you are a player on the server. Nothing has been decided yet but we would like to iron everything out by the time Elite goes down.

Guys! here is good news, i think. i hear excelcia server is an RPG server, with a mod you get at excelcia's site!

dont mean to interupt the floow of discussion but would someone explain what constitutes an rpg server? i mean, do players talk in fr33-5p34k or play out campaigns or...?

I am assuming they pretend to belong to one of the factions and only use thier ships and/or weapons. Probably not so much the weapon thing as it is possible to grab almost every kind of weapon from kills eventually.

aH! well i never considered freelancer an rpg at all since you have no say in the 'role' you play in the sp game and are essentially following the story line, where the role-playing? in mp the rpg value isnt any better at all except how you are perceived by other players and ai. your not playing a role, your playing a value. plus or minus, good or bad. dependant on what/who you destroy.

mmorpg? lol... whats massive about a buncha home servers hosting a a few dozen gamers or more? its far from persistent and since its not really an rpg...
