Help starting MP please

Does anyone have a good server suggestion for starting MP. I play at approx midnight plus EST (2nd Shift). I like the game in it's pure form, unmodded. Do I need any patches or downloads for MP? Heard good things about Elite ... worth starting there? Anyone have the IP? Lots of questions but want to start with good MP experience not be put off from the start ......

I too am intersted. I just got a DSL arraingement. Unfortunatly I don't know how to get a multiplayer (Unmodded please) to function.

well elite has rather hostile clans :cough neo cough:. I would recommend browclopsia or bend. org untill you get the hang of the multiplayer. Then try elite

Tried elite last night, nobody on the others at the time I went in, it was good but didn't veture out of liberty yet.............

If you like servers with a lot of people, try Alpha Server 24/7, Alpha Centauri 2 24/7, or Elite. Elite's quite a controversial one, though, so it might not be your best option. AC2 used to have a lot of hackers on it, but I think that's been cleared up. Browclopsia is also quite good. It's an "active" server, by which I mean it's got a good community that schedules server events and stuff like games and things that keep it interesting.

try freelance heaven. goes through a different server side mod every day. only affects starting characters, so you could very well end up being an outcast or rogue, or corsair as well as a bountyhunter or zoner or liberty navy flying that defender ship that juni has.

Give Born In The USA 24/7 a shot. It is very good and upcoming server with good thinks happen and things to come. Just started webpage and police force is recruiting now.
