Alpha Server 24/7, too, is the very type of server you describe, Regulator --- it just is lagged to hell and has a deranged (jk) admin.

Speaking of which, I have a little story regarding that:
There's this miniclan there called the T/\U which wears no tags and takes over the omicrons and charges 300,000 entrance fees, generally to enter Gamma but also in the other two omicrons as well. Refusing to pay because being wanted by them was more fun, I one day discovered they had captured "a mouse" (as they referred to him) on Crete, a guy named "Balio" was trapped with no way out...he too refused to pay and after he docked with Crete the T/\U refused to let him leave alive.

When this happened, I took it upon myself to desperately attack the three T/\U members guarding Crete, while nearly ordering Balio to launch on my signal. He said he didnt need my help, but like I'd expect anyone caged to do, he took it anyway. While the T/\U shouted to "concentrate [their fire on Gregster!", Balio launched and slipped away as my Eagle was reduced to roast turkey status...

Balio was chased down and destroyed in one of the Omega Systems by one of the T/\U but nevertheless he escaped Omicron Gamma without paying his foes. The odds were heavily against me: the three dock campers were using coded (classified level 10) weaponry (including Diamondbacks) and eagles. My own Eagle never had a chance. But that wasn't the point, it was to give Balio a chance to escape, and escape he did. Therefore, I proved one thing: Dock camping victims are NEVER helpless when others are around to provide a nice distraction

I think what we're looking for here is a server where all the dirty tricks (except cheating) are not only allowed but encouraged. I'd be willing to bet that dock camping 24/7 on browclopsia would eventually get you banned, as would hunting a single noob player over and over again. Personally, I wouldn't even try these things on browclopsia, since they wouldn't be in the spirit of the admins will, and I prefer to play fairly by the spirit of the rules.

We want a server option where we are guaranteed not to get banned for these things. A server where the server description states that these things occur on the server. A server where, when we start playing, we know people 40 levels above us will hunt us for sport, and our main goal is to live long enough to gain a ship worthy of fighting back. I think the game really needs this kind of fun albeit cut-throat environment.

I'm not putting down Browclopsia or alpha in any way, shape or form. I'm sure I would continue to play on Brow (it IS an excellent server) even while playing on an extreme server at other times. It would just be nice to have the option to go hell-bent-for-leather once in awhile.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Browclopsia is not that type of server at all. It may not have a Liberty Rule, but I am sure it would be unacceptible to kill noobs all the time. It is modeled after Browclops, which was the ultimate community server. Alpha Server you never know if what you are doing is going to get you banned, such as wearing a clan tag or pissing off Akira. This server would be the ultimate extreme server. It isn't to replace Browclopsia or any other server. It is there to compliment them by offering more options to the players. Players that like to dockcamp and do mean things can go there and not get banned. Players that want to be safe from these types of things will not play there. This type of server promotes freedom for players. They can choose how they want to play. Either play on nice community oriented servers, such as Elite and Browclopsia. Or they can play on this cut-throat server.

This gives freedom to predators. And it gives freedom to victims to choose if they want the risk.

sorry --- some of these things werent exactly what i meant but yeah i dont mean like super noob killing, we just need more aggressive players on Browclopsia --- the action there is too muted -- TOO MANY PACIFISTS AND DUELER TYPES!

where are the ppl who capture systems (or people) and charge cash, and when you dont pay they send out search parties who go nuts and chase you down for five systems before blowing you to bits? um...uh...well...not that much necessarily...and umno, that isnt an invitation to kill me....no...no, get away..........AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

In the spirit of Browclops, the server is what the players make it.

The only rule not referring to cheaters, is "keep it reasonable."

What does that mean? Well you are correct, hunting the same defenseless noob over and over and over again till the point to where he doesn't want to play anymore, is not reasonable. Have fun not at the expense of the other players around you. If you where in a starflier and had 3 Eagles chasing you from the moment you left Manhattan, would not be fun.

Dock camping repeatedly is also not reasonable, HOWEVER... a blockade, nothing wrong with that. Whats the difference in my vast and all-powerful mind [ ask you? Don't do it till again the point of where the other guy doesn't want to play anymore. Nothing wrong with it in a declaired event, such as the "liberation of Texas" from Browclops server the Former.

Keeping it reasonable only means don't go overboard, and I'll let you know if you do, its not gonna be an insist ban.

I encourage the carnage on Browclopsia, even though I myself only prefer a declaired duel or event as to getting PKed just for going AFK or leaving the ship on autopilot while afk. But you can be assured that if that happens to me, I do hunt down and kill the person till I feel good again. I find most PKers to be of sub-standard skill when faced in a battle with out the element of surprise on their side.

Just remember, you make the server what it is.

Yup Meiyo, and I wouldn't have Browclopsia change for the world. It's an excellent server.

Dock-camping IS unreasonable, as is noob-hunting, and especially the 'ETC. ETC.' tactics Regulator outlined in his original post. :p

However, there are times when I want to be hunted unreasonably, and times when I'd enjoy hunting unreasonably. I wouldn't dream of doing this kind of thing just to ruin another players enjoyment - it's not my style. On the other hand, if their presence on an 'extreme' server indicated that they expected, and even wanted this kind of behaviour (as I do on occasion), then I would be free from morale ramifications, and the entire server would become one big consensual free-for-all. This kind of thing would ruin a community server. But it just might be nice to see on a seperate server.

I feel guilty, besides the fact i spammed lancer with various facts about Ravens, I established T/\U, but uhm... never went head on wit it, guess someone else that heard about it in that junction thought it wuz a good idea, oh well, alpha server 24/7 got modded anyway, and the admin is sky high in oblivion.
