To all People who downloaded FLMA1.1 and came to Massive add

firstoff a link to download cause i know other people than what came to server will read this http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/downloa ... asp?id=382

There was a repeaed number of server crashes we have pinpointed the crashes to excessive waypoints, we also know who was doing this though we do not believe it was purposeful, we would still appreciate it if u would keep ur waypoints under 60-65 (e.g going from newyork to tau21 not good) if anything if u must set them for halfway then when u get to the last point set them the rest of the way, that way the computer and the modem running the server doesnt have to process so much at once, REDUCING LAG

please come back (after about the 5th time a few people stopped logging back on) and give it another shot, invite a friend, invite 2 friends th more the merrier

also keep in mind no waypoints in new systems

thanks,

I'm not sure how waypoints can cause lag. I never thought of that problem. Why would they?

I always assumed waypoints would be located on the client-side, since I can't see any reason the server would need to know each players way-points. It seems like only the pilot and the ship would need to know its own waypoints, so they can navigate.

Also, how does having a ton of way-points make it so that a lot has to be processed at once? Do you mean during the auto-creation of the WayPoints. I think the creation should be client-side, but if it isn't, then I definately understand how that could cause lag.

I probably answered all of my own questions. LOL

yes it is during the auto creation the information has to come from the server and thus lag can get caused if there is an excess of waypoints to be processed

The name of the server is 'Massive addon v1.1 mod by Wilt'???

I had this too many waypoints causing a crash in single player with this mod as well. Haven't tried it in multiplayer(the mod not the crash). But will give it a look tonight.
