And just why do you need your ID changed..? Get banned from a server somewhere?

Jesus christ dont give the guy hassle why not answer his question.

Altho I am yet to play online, I'm pretty sure your MP ID is hled and stored by the host of the server you registered it on. So you have to contact him to do anything.


P.S. There is a real lack of help in these forums. You all are too high-strung to even help people out which is a real shame to see.

I have never dealt with that situation before but I would guess that you need to uninstall then reinstall to get different MP ID. The ID that is stored on a MP server is totally different from your MP ID.

create a different user on your XP machine , start MP , and you will get a new ID number

print it or write it down

log in as yourself

use regedit to find your old ID number

change one or two digits in it

start MP

it will tell you ' invalid ID'

type in your new ID

Off you go

I tried to create a new ID as you described and it worked.

However, when I'm now trying to use this ID on Elite, FL say's

"I'm sorry, but the account name and password you provided are not valid on this server. Be sure that you typed your account name and password correctly and try again".

Any hints what might cause this or what I have to do to connect with my new MP ID to Elite?

Elite has account creation turned off , hence you can not enter elite with your new ID

What's the reason for turning account creation off? Is the server overloaded?

Account creation off stops the repeat cheats from coming back. I enable creation maybe for 3 days a week until the cheats get unbareable then its disabled.
