I see lots of people doing that. Mostly clans. While they are fighting , when their shields get low they go to the character screen then back in, so their shields regen without a need for bats.

That method is kinda disgraceful and cowardly. I found a Pker going around killing weak players. When I came to regulate his @ss, he logged out when he was near death. He did that everytime he was about to die. Doesn't really piss me off though, since it just makes him look like an loser.

As far as a clan doing that, that reflects very poorly on the clan. That is a cheap way of winning a battle.

well it might be a little cowardly but i would say hunting down a newb for no reason is even more so. i didnt say press F1 when your loosing a duel, or when a player at your lvl is shooting at you cause you pissed him off.

Everyone has a reason for hunting others, considering it "no reason" is quite relative

I can see the application for frieghters better, but still kinda against role-playing. You could just pretend it is an installed cloaking device on your ship, so that you stay within the role of the freighter in Freelancer.

ever since you posted this here almost everyone I fight has been doing this, thanks alot you just created a new string of lamers to play with us.

who would do this stupid F1 trick when they are flying a titan, sabre or eagle to get out of being owned by a drake? it's disgraceful and it's almost like cheating for 2 reasons.

* you can regenrate your shields instantly without having to use batteries.

* Technicaly you are invincible because if you do this everytime you're shields fail you can not die because you come back with full sheilds and not to mention full gun power.

The shield regen times were put in this game for a reason.

I *could* and I stress *could* understand why n00bs would do this to get out of dieing and looseing their cargo and money, but for lvl 32+ players it's just lame and stupid and you have basicaly admited to getting owned, especially when a drake was fighting you.


I hope someone can find a way to fix this because from my point of view it is a making the PK aspect of this game meaningless.

PK should always be meaningless if both parties don't consent to it, as in a duel or something. It's like rape.

if you dont want to be pked dont play on a PK server, so when you play battle field and you die but you didnt want to die it's rape? I think not in that game people are ment to kill and be killed same as in this game and the F1 has basicaly taken that element away, it's complete BS and I hope the rest of you anti-pk carebears dont pull the ole "we dont wanna be pked" out from you're sleeve, you think that playing on a pk server but not wanting to be pked gives you the right to basicaly exploit one of the many flaws this game has? because thats what you're doing, so my advice to you, if you dont wanna be pked play on a non pk server.

This game was made with the thought in mind that people may not want to be pked there for the designers thoughtfully put in several tools at you're disposal to prevent that, it's called running away and it's not nearlly as disgusting and disgraceful and not to mention downright idiotic as the F1 cheat.


my advice to people is to now use it, because if you manage to evade a PKer by doing the F1 cheat then that will make the PKer come after you every single time.

my advice is that if you can't or dont want to fight the pker off is to runaway and use you're brains to evade the pker, double back on tradelanes, drop a mine before you dock with a lane to disable it hence losing the pker, but not the F1 cheat.

I'm a n00b, so feel free to disregard, but it' s not about anti-PK. It's about level 30+'s taking out level < 10's and or tolling them. No sport in that. Imagine said pk is kewl if it's all an agreed duel, or someone is mouthing off to you, or a cheater/modder, all that (duh).

Dock camping and pk'ing newbies and guys 20 levels below you is bs, and you know it.

That's my (noob==worthless) opinion.

What fun is agree Pking? That is not role-playing. If you are weak and killed by someone stronger, then that just gives you more motive to level up and kill them back. So I don't know it is bs.
