This appears to be someone who's been booted from a server and wants to change his ID so he can log back in, his reluctance to do a re-install supports this conclusion, I don't think anyone should help him do an end run around an admin's right to choose who get's access to his server.

This may not be the case, but there is clearly something this individual is afraid of losing by doing a re-install. He's sacrificing his MP character files if he changes his ID and SP save games are stored in the windows documents folder, so what could it be other than a mod or cheat that he'll lose if he re-installs.

You have 2 ways, either you format your disk, and install the game, or you install the game on another computer and get the key it spawns there.

If its on elite its a bit more dificult, i would recomend a change of ip's and maximum discretion.

my mp login has stoped connectin to global server, and my mate has got the install disc atm, so i cant re-install for a few days.

basically you NEED the disc though i dont understand the id problem ,fully.
sounds like you need a reinstall anyway

a. create a new identity on your computer
b. start freelancer
c. it will create a new MP ID
d. print it
e. log out
f. log in as you again
g. use reg edit and search for your old ID
h. replace 1 or two characters/ numbers in your ID
I. start freelancer , it will say your ID is invalid
J. type in the newly created ID
K. you can log in again but since you changed your ID all your characters will be gone so you have to start from scratch on every server you had a character
