I think a cool event would be races at that race track near the battleship Hood in Dublin.

I dont think it would be to hard to organise provided everyone cooperates and doesnt act like a fool.

I can imagine about 40 ships all trying to get through the hoops... Bit like the first corner in an F1 grand prix! Sounds like a blast. Only problem is, policing that everyone goes through all the hoops without missing out sections and cheating. Otherwise, I'd be most glad to collide with 39 other ships trying to force their way around the track. Game on! Let us see who's menourvering skills rock the most.

I really like this idea. Future considerations for sure. I was even considering a drag race of sorts where people try to "free flight" navigate through a asteroid field with spectators lining the course like a dance line (dating myself again) where people move their way from the finish, back in line and slowly move back towards the starting line acting as judges along the way tyo make sure other racers are in freeflight not GoTo until they begin a new race with a new opponent (different numbers on each side).

Another thought was a race completely around the Sirius Sector with judges at specific checkpoints (jump holes/jump gates). Or better yet a "Fox n Hound" race where one pilot (the fox) takes off from a group of other pilots {(hounds) until they just disappear of radar and the winner is the one that can sniff out and locate and screenshot said fox. Maybe even a treasure hunt in a system with more than one gas cloud that requires a keen eye to navigate. Pilots would position themselves at various places and jettison certain object to prove the pilots found them. The Winners of each of these would of course receive "name in lights" status here.

Competition doesn't create character...it reveals it.

All of those ideas sound great Stinger. I especially like the one with a race around the entire sirius sector... maybe start in Bretonia and get to the other side of sirius, check in, then make your way back. Any route can be taken, and anything goes type of thing (except pk)... maybe have the quickest route identified and 'forbidden' to use. The race could look something like this...

Start off in Dublin
Check in at Omicron Alpha (Would have to be a very quick check in)
Then to New York (Another Check In)
and ending in Unknown

Maybe an entry free could be given (something small, like 50,000) and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners could take in prizes for that amount?

Ahh well, just an idea.

Heh.. what about a mining dirby Everyone goes to a minable zone and takes a position, they then start to mine and at the end of a certain time say 5-10 mins the person with the most cargo wins. Make it a minning zone in a mine field to make things more interesting. Of course noone would be able to dock with the stations and would have to be watched thoroughly

Anyways thats just a random thought I had when I thought of a fishing dirby.

Stinger, I sent my screenshots to Mad Dog. Did he give them to you? If not, I'll send them to you.

I think Browclops used to do something that was pretty cool. Get a bunch of people together (whoever's participating), then choose someone out of the group (either volunteer or random selection). Everyone starts at the same place, and there's a certain "end" point. The "chosen one" gets a little bit headstart. He has to reach the "end" point without getting killed. The others have to kill him before he makes it. They can chase, set up blockades, etc.

We did all kinds of things on Browclops.

Starflier races were pretty fun. Check out Brows announcement here. Starflier Race Summary by Browclops That was a fun race.

Here is and idea for a starflier race that I havn't tried yet. Brand new starfliers with zero credits on them race to TAU 37 and mine 20 Niobium, then bring it back to Manhattan. It sounds kinda tough, but it might be feasible.
