This with regards to cloaking , hmm a screenshot of a cloaked ship requires to have a Mod installed that either enables cloaking or a so called cloak detector

To ban a cloak cheater you DONT need a screenshot. Use logic. If theres 7 people in the system and you see 6 of them... the last one must be the cloaked person. I would know this, its part of the job to catch cloackers sometimes. Its not always possible to get a screenshot of a cheater but you can easily figure out who it is anyways.

I can be in a system , uncloaked , and you would never find me , since all you people seem to think freelancer is linear and only look for somebody on one plane of existance i am more then free to roam arround a system by just going 20 K up or down and then fly straight

as far as the post goes , they claimed they had a screenshot of the cloaker , and that my dear watson requires to have a mod installed

But then there are several instances where they use mods so this discussion is pointless at best

If the little facist club finds it necessary to terrorize a server they can do such to their hearts content , just the admins of the server should not be surprised that the amount of players will dwindle.

for one why would somebody decloak/cloak if he is on the prowl in the first place ? that would immediately give him away so it is very doubtfull a person already in the act of committing something illegal would do that

second, the time i will answer to a hail coming from anybody even remotely related to a bunch of cheaters and PKers is the time i will have myself checked in a mental institution

third , it can happen that the person you are trying to hail is otherwise engaged (bathroom, getting a drink, checking email to name a few)

fourth , a person does not necessarily need to fly arround to be in a system , if he/she is docked he/she will show up but can not be found

Personally i would look at any screenshot proof of a cloaked person with suspicion since in 99 of a 100 cases it will require that the person taking the screen shot has either the cloakmod or the cloak detector mod installed

all i did was give you several reasons why somebody would not answer a hail , you then procede to pull those out of context and adjust them to your own needs

furthermore , you seem to find it necessary to use derogatory terms to get your point across, again an indication of your mental maturity (or actually the lack there off)

The conspiracy suspicions remind me of a movie I just watch called "Dark Blue". It was about crooked cops in LA. From what I read in the forums, it appears that NEO has gained the trust of the admins on Elite by helping to report cheaters and keeping the server clean. There may have be a very small minority of NEO's that have abused this trust by making false accusations and fabrictating evidence. Maybe they got away with it resulting in the appearance of a corrupt admin. I highly doubt that any of the admin's are corrupt or biased towards the NEO clan. Why would they be? The only way they could be is if they have a good friend in NEO, or they are in NEO in an alternate character.

If everyone in the same system is visible to each other except for one person, AND they do not respond to hails/chats to identfiy and comply with coming into view then it's is safe to assume my dear watson at that point they have something to hide or why would they not come forth to prove their innocence? Logic dictates that thinking.

You're the admin, and can do whatever you please and use whatever system you please to do it. But be careful when you call it logic. Some people are there to be a "Freelancer" and not to take orders from people to "meet here at this time so I can check something".

You're probably right that if they don't come to the appointed system at the appointed time then they are likely trying to hide something. However, you are operating on the assumption that everyone is guilty until proven (by their presence) innocent. Again, that's your perogative to operate that way, but it leaves open the possibility that some innocent folks are getting banned because of a reason that you did not list above, whatever that reason is.

It's your thing...it's just kinda unfortunate.

It's called Collateral Damage. Sometimes it is a necessary evil for the better of the whole.

Personally, I think that a player should only be banned if they are definately cheating and you can see them cheating. I think players should have the right to remain silent, but only to a reasonable extent. They shouldn't have to go to a different system to testify that they are innocent.

This worries me. The logic there is so fallacious. Ever consider "pirates" who avoid the planet areas due to high police concentration? Or the people who use the 3-d environment and go UP or DOWN? Or the people that are in the middle of a mission in intense combat in an asteroid field somewhere off the beaten path? Elite admin, I hope you or whoever is responsible for hiring/training server deputies teaches them something. I find it quite worrysome that I might get booted because reasoning as bad as this is used.

If someone is exploding nearly instantly, for no discernible reason, with no visible shots fired, there's much more going on than simple piracy. Additionally, 99% of these cases occur in Liberty systems, where PVP is illegal anyway.

Explain how that doesn't work? If there are 7 people in the system (excluding me) and I've scanned, seen and cleared 6 of them then the last person becomes a suspect. This isnt the only stuff we do to catch a cloaker. We have to improvise while in the field to catch them. Theres alot more that goes on in finding out whos cheating. People aren't banned without solid evidence.

I'd like to point out that Deputies do NOT ban. They submit suspect names to Admin who investigates allegation
with his own tools and techniques. Deputy intuition is NOT enough, even Screen shot evidence is only part of it.

That was just badly put...ie - they could be docked, flying 20k or away from other populous places.
Mind you - mb52 sounds like a server deputy - who also said...
'regardless of whom they are - if they are caught pking in liberty they will be banned - whether NEO or not....' sounds good to me - tell NEO that.

its not that i hate NEO - i don't.......I just think they are dumb cowards...! lol
