Right, finnally managed to get connected to the global server, I get the list of servers, but when I try to connect to them it tells me that the requested operation is taking longer than expected, then normally faults out telling me that the user name I have entered is invalid, even though I have not entered one

Any ideas????

Your jealous cause the voices only talk to me!

If you are using Norton Utilities or other SOftware/Hardware Firewall, this may be blocking the ports you need open to fully connect in

It may also be that the server is not allowing any new players. This happened with Elite, as I had not created an account before, and when it finally did work, the server news said something like "account creation now available" or somefing like that.

Thanks, I will give it a try, not using a firewall or anything like that.

Do you think my problem could be that I am only using a 56k modem?
