So much complaning on the other thread, and I want to here about it here.

personally I think we should start a private thread so all X-Gov members and current can hammer this out! This should not be displayed in public for all creatures to enjoy! IMHO

I have to voice my full thoughts here:

I was about to leave because to be quite honest some of bits comments were a little out of the scope of what I thought the clan was developing into. To be quite honest I didnt know what we were doing, and had several peeps ask the same ?. So I for appreciate Reg steping up w/ some leadership. Even if you did not mean it the way it came out, you appeared to be bucking for power, and name drop to through your weight around. Thats not productive...it creates what happened on the forums

I like how Reg broke it down, and if we are going to do some role playing then I'll stick w/ GOV w/ a character ([GOVBone-2), my others are my regular same ole pirating/$ making self !

I still consider bits and all the others compadre's and will help anyone of you guys if ya need it. I hope you guys/gals stay in for the RolePlay...

ps: I have been in other clans and this is the same ole crap that happens in everyone of them....it usually boils down to miscomunication and then the inability, usually caused by immaturity, to resolve conflicts w/o flaming each other out of a friendship.

That would be a "civil" war situation within the confines of GOV space. You could appeal to the other clans (SD, AR, HRE) for support. It would be an interesting plot twist to say the least.

MMmm, trust me, I need no encouragement.
I'll be on the server tonight around 10/11 cst, or shortly there after providing a slot opens up. At which stage a declaration of texas independance shall be issued. But only if I see some GOV players, otherwise no point I guess.

Hypothetically speaking, and using the UN Charter as an example, outside states cannot act in another countries civil war. Since Texas is Part of the United Systems (GOV Clan) territories, HRE will treat it like a civil war...but then again, Britian and France BOTH had a hand in the American Revolution, which was a civil war between the colonies and Britian...hmmmmmmm.....the plot doth thicken me thinks....

twex - to keep things consistent, announce the intended indepence of the texas system on the thread for the server before you do so on the server itself...i dunno why, but it seems the thing to do...

In an official capacity, a notice....

In as much as the HRE representative has been informed that CLAN SD intends to interfere in an internal CIVIL WAR that may happen within the borders of the United Systems (GOV Space), and in as much as the representative of the organization for the liberation of texas has informed the HRE reps that they could not defend themselves against two nation it is resolved thusly:

If Clan SD violates the charter of the USB and interferes in an internal matter within the GOV territory without cause and with prejudice, HRE will be forced into open aggression on the peoples of Clan SD. The struggle for texan independence is an internal matter unless they take their fight into Rhienland space.

We hope that conflict will not be necessary. Let cooler heads prevail.

Whee, fun. Hey, just wondering, but what's all the clans' stance on Kepler, Galileo, and those other systems. Is anything that happens there the business of the houses that they border?

Ok, as evident from the 3.5 hours of battling that occurred tonight, some ground rules for defeat, victory and stalemate need to be laid. I'm not suggesting any tonight, but will leave it open for specification.

And HRE had no right to attack this evening in support of GOV according to what you said above. Yes/No?

Twex - HRE, in an official capacity, per section 2 (there are only three sections to my knowledge) of the USB Charter (MUTUAL ASSISTANCE) was requested and answered to a call for help in the defense of the United Systems in Texas. Unfortunately for the HRE, the Cessationist Forces were too powerful and the HRE member of the coalition was quickly defeated (he ran out of funds for batts and bots...). If the HRE had shown up and just started shooting, that would have been an invasion in violation of the charter.

GOV requested that HRE assist in the defense.

Just a simple educated observation/idea: If a battle for a system is to take place, shouldn't it be like a real war - Battle Royale at each Trade Lane endpoint for that section. 1 death and you are out of the fight at that location and can rejoin (reinforce) at the next battle... If (what do you call your group if you are a group) you defeat all forces (for or against) at that spot the fight moves onto the next trade lane...and in war, like in the real thing, outside of breaking server rules - anything and everything goes.

All territorial disputes, though, should be announced here - in this forum.... to keep things consistent. Just some random thoughts...what do you think?

Border worlds are no ones and everyones. We decided that they should remain unclaimed. I like the idea because it gives a location for discontent to foment...pirates to base out of...good guys to hunt bad guys in... I liken them as to the old Wild West where the law of the gun is the only law. Of course, USB Charter would apply there, but not the law of the bordering systems...maybe they are likened to the DMZ's in Korea and on Star Trek...What would you like done with them.

Twex again - THANK YOU! Your participation and ingenious thinking gave the whole USB thing a real shot in the arm. I think everyone - and i mean everyone - had a blast (figurative and literal) last night because of you.
