Wrecks in Multiplayer

This has been covered before, but not very adequately. So I'm asking:

1) How often do wrecks respawn in multiplayer?
2) Do Multiplayer servers have some configuration that controls whether or not wrecks respond?

It seems like a lot of fun is taken out of the game when you don't have wrecks respawning...

they respawn whenever the server is reset

Hmz... but do they respawn after some time, as some people have suggested? Or is that an option controlled by the server?

Some wrecks respawn after a server restart or about 4-5 days for YOU, but not all. If you have looted them already in some systems then you wont ever get them again.

OK... thanks for the replies. I've just started playing on a MP Freelancer Server and I was a little sad when every wreck I found had already been looted. I'm hoping later on it will be restored

Thinking about it, a serverside mod that allows the admin to Spawn these items without reseting the server at timed intervals or at the admins discression, would be quite usefull, a lot of games provide consol commands to spawn/respawn items and such, it seems a bit of an oversight for this type of thing not to have been made available from the server in Freelancer.

i would say both. say like 12 hours the wrecks respawn, OR the admin can change how long it takes for them to or if they respawn at all.
