How do you trade in MP?

Sorry, I know this seems obvious but I'm new to MP and haven't traded with others yet. The manual's not too explanatory, the screenshot shows what some guys got and what part of it he wants to trade, but how does he see what the other guy's offering, is the screen split or something?

just mark a human ship (either in the left panel or by left click on it itself) and press "u" or the icon left to ur hul display (ship=><=ship) u must remain in a maximum 1.5 k distance in order to trade

Thanks. Does the screen show what you're both offering each other? The manual's not too clear. I wouldn't want to shaft someone by screwing up a trade.

Yes, you will both be able to see what you are offering each other.
