Ever watched Enemy of the State?

Remember Will Smith's wife? She kept saying:

If the population is monitored by special people then who is monitroing the monitors? And then who is monitoring the monitors monitoring the population? And so on...

This fits into the idea that the Vigilantes may need to be controlled if they are given too much power...

uuuh, we're not monitors. We're a group that takes out cheats that have been pointed out by server admins.

by server admins? why don't they uhh...just you know...ban them?

It deters them better than a simple ban. I've killed a cheater on my server and they've never came back. I haven't banned their account either. Banning was an insult to injury really. A group of pilots doing this is more effecitve than just one server admin. The group can close in on an enemy, forcing them into one system. We can also have spies for recon thanx to the cloaking device my friend made and tested on my server. Sure banning's a lot easier, but would you want to see a cheat disappear? Or would you like to see them burn and die first ?

i'd rather see cheaters gone for good, no matter what their justification may be

pretty soon you'll have people saying "oh that guy's a cheater so i'm using my cloak and invulnerable shields for payback"

You guys don't get it do u. This group is to act as a DETERRANT to cheats. I'm not asking for criticism, I'm asking for a name suggestion and ppl who wanna help out! It's been tried, it works, it's good. Is it too much to ask for?

well i doubt u are going to get name suggestions,cheating in multiplayer is just plain WRONG, no 2 ways about it,we are trying to get rid of cheating,not justify it,can u understand that.

Would u prefer it if I removed the cloaking device?! So we're now a bunch of ppl who gang up on cheats. Sounds too much like a clan. I'm not saying clans r bad, but that's not what I meant this to be. I wanted it to be a group of ppl working together to deter cheats by any means neccesary.

If you came into elite with your modded ****, even if you call youself a 'server cop', rest assured that NEO will attack you.
As I said before...
I will attack anyone with any mods, no matter what their intentions are.
If you have a cloaking device, I'll blast you. I don't care if you're camping someone, or if you're just flying around minding your own business.

I did come in to elite with it on accidentaly so I ended up getting banned. I was supposed to be doing work for Frobozz. I'm still looking for name suggestions. And fo the benefit of ppl who don't read the whole topic, the cloaking device has been removed, but we (if anyone's interested any more) still kill cheats if the admin prefers it.

Alpha Centarui 2 has became the sewer for modders. server crashes all the time, u see ppl in NY with all kindsa crap liek 8 dimondbacks mounted with 8.33 rates, cloaks, champian sheilds, which i saw tonite is not much better than the brigadines that are normal judging by whr player i saw using it.

i am sure there are more things too. and i can tell you that [email protected] seems not to give a rats a$$. me and others have emailed him and sent screenshots, even FRAPS movies links.

the admin needs to be fired or replaced or they need to just shut it down. there is no excuse for this sloppiness, even tho it is a sponsered server, someone is not minding the helm... may as well slap up ALpha Centarui 2 modders playground.

To see how a server should be ran? come by BrowClops. That is a cool place. no admins in players pockets either. I haven't seen any problems there when i am on, and a lotta nites brow himself is on watching things and organizing events for the players.

Well, if this group does kick off, AC2 can be our first port of call, if the admin likes it or not. And yes, I have removed the cloaking device, so now no1 can say that we're cheaters killing cheaters. Still looking for name suggestions and ppl who wanna join.
