Dock Camping Solutions?

Ok, would require some mods, but here goes;

1) Traffic congestion warning of destination point. Scans a radius of say 2K around the destination dock and warns of excessive ship buildups. Camping would still occur, but you would at least get a running start.

2) "Good Guy" patrols (navy/police) warn first then open fire on the folks who hang around too long in the gate area (Regardless of faction rating). OK, border worlds etc would still be susceptible to camping, but that would add some reality to it.

3) Admin-only god mode. This would allow the server admins to enter an indestructable mode (unlimited health and weapons) to take care of the campers. Also, targetting them in the hud would add to a log so the admins can see who does it how often, where, when and IP address. Share the data out with other admins on other servers. They will stop camping when they start running out of servers to abuse. Would need a disclaimer telling players their IP is logged for said purposes.


OK, I admit i havent done much MP on FL at the moment, but it was the dock-rapers and other assorted knob-jockeys that got me out of MP games in the first place. Only a coward takes pleasure in beating a foe who didnt have a chance to begin with.

Allthough i posted this on another DC thread, all it takes is for the Dev team to add aggressive sheilds as in starlancer MP for the duration of the docking process that way anyone dock killing simply blow them selves to bits. to see what i mean try hitting a player that has aggressive sheilds, with a missile in SL MP. I doubt a mod could be made to do this as it would undoubtably require the source code for such a modification.

With Unreal Tournament, I think there's a Mod that makes players Invulnerable (but they can't shoot)
for like 10 seconds after they spawn. THAT would do the trick, I think.

I think that if you are attacked in an area by another player and your "Friendly" Faction units are near by, that they should engage the enemy and call in support to help. Might add a little "Spark" to pvp

How about if you open fire around a neutral base, or a law abiding base then the bases guns blow you out of the water. I mean, that'd happen in real life, open fire in public, or around a police station, or anyone with guns, and bam you're dead as soon as possible. Might take some reprogramming of base logic. But it happens in SP when you open fire or destroy a military unit, or even a civil unit.

(If this post seems weird, it's cause I just got back from the bars with my girls and I've had too much)
