wrecks respawns

I know this is going to sound pretty stupid but I was wondering if wrecks respawn or does it only give out items once???

reason I ask I went to get some guns from a wreck and then went back with a friend in a group and didn't give out squat.

varies between server to server. either the contents of each wreck reset after the server resets or by a set interval between looting.
