Ive found Freelancer somewhat better than your average quake/UT/CS server, but cockmongers still exist.

Whiners. I can't believe some of you people, you act like dock camping is the end of the world.

Dock Camping sucks period. But you have to live with it. Be ready to just exit the program once you suspect that crap is going to happen to you once you re-enter space. It's that simple.

Sure, it's just a game. But in the *context* of the game dock camping is a complete joke, perpetrated (I suspect) by the same kind of immature vindictive assholes who in real life are the type to key-scratch your new car as they saunter by just for the hell of it.

So what's the deal? Are you so powerless in your real life that MP FL is one of the few forums you have to flex your muscles? I got no problem with PKing, so long as it's a "fair" fight. You think you're the best pilot on Elite? Okay, bring on the mad skillz and prove it. Look, anyone can brag that they totally kicked Mike Tyson's ass if they grabbed a baseball bat and waited for him to step outta his shower in the morning. That doesn't make you a tough guy, that makes you a coward and a punk. Dock camping n00bs or other defenseless players is about as challenging and admirable as suckerpunching a toddler.

So what. It's just a game, right? Anything goes and if you can't deal then too bad and quit your whinning. But guess what, even games need rules (official or otherwise) or they devolve into pointless chaos. Take professional sports: even the most bad-ass full contact NFL or NHL games place limits of checking, etc.
Ever been cross-checked on the back of the skull? That's dock camping. Ever been face-masked on the 5 yard line? That's dock camping. It ain't right.

The point is, if dock campers keep it up eventually there will be no one left to dock camp, `cause everyone will get pissed off and spend their on-line time elsewhere. Leaving you with no one to dock camp. Oh well, there's always Battlenet and CS, right?

Anyway, just had to get that off my chest. I'm sure I'll now be inundated by 14 year-old l33ters assuring me that they will most righteously 0\/\/n my pansy ass the next time they see me on Elite. That's fine. It'll be worth it if I can convince just one dock-camper to give up his weak, punk-ass bitch ways and help MP FL stick around longer than the 6-8 months that I'd currently give it.

And tasiin, dock camping ISNT the end of the world. Duh. You probably invented the dock camping phenomenon for all we know, and have never been lain seige before. Dock campers are just bullies. plain and simple. most of them seem to have only the IQ of a donut anyway..

I have to agree with Falcon's post. Dock Camping is something that demands no skill whatsoever. I know there are some clans out there with their elitest attitude thinking they're the most awesome power out there, and yet they resort to dock camping. That doesn't make sense to me.

everyone plays this game the way it suites him best....some enjoy trading, some go pirating, some fight police forces, some getting best (in their mind) ship and going after other players (1v1 mostly), and some...well, those who suck in real life, those who will never stand up for themselves if approached by a tougher guy, those who only feel strong in packs, those who dont have skillz to go 1v1, those being abused in schools by bullies ...(you got the idea)...they enjoy killing other players 4-5 vs 1 because it gives them sense of mightiness and tougheness (?), they like looking at other players being destroyed by 5-10 and more torpedoes and missiles and countless mines, they screem in extasy when it happens and they think to themselves: "Man, how POWERFULL we are! Nobody can defeat us"...it gives them a great satisfaction...The virtual community created by them replaces what they are missing in real life. I wonder if it is the only source of positive emotions for these people...But what the heck , I know I can easily take out 2 of them when attacked by 4...it gives me satisfaction as well... So be it!...for as long as there is NEO and alike on Elite I will go after them where it is possible. I got money, ship, weps..now I choose the gameplay which suites ME the best----> kill dock campers. I might loose a single battle but I know I will NEVER loose the war.

Dock camping is a display of lameness, sometimes confused with greatness. But I found a better place, where I don't experience any of Elites Dock camping.

AKA:

Crunch....u make urself out to be the victim. give me a break man. ur story doesnt work here. did u forget all that slander thrown our way. and ur organization that wanted to take over fp9....and who could forget...the dock raping of the Voices as well... please. dont act like NPC are the only things u mess with.

A lot of people like to fly criminal ships.. So if you kill NPC criminal(ie you go after outcasts and corsairs), you be a target for any player who are friendly with criminals.
