Retaining characters after reinstall

I had some sort of problem with my game that required a full un/reinstall of the program. Before doing so, I wrote the ID that tells each server who I am in the hopes of being able to re-enter the same ID and keep all of my characters. Does anyone know if I will be able to input this ID during the install? And if not, does anyone know the file location where I can edit the new one and replace with the old?

If its the ID from the myflaccountid.hta file then yes you can enter it when reinstalling. It does link to the servers BUT you have to find them again, the Visited option isn't there for any servers you have used. So make sure you know there exact name and IP of each.

Yes, it is pinger. I appreciate the info, rockin! And yes, I do know the server name too---only one that I really visited. Thanks for makin my day a little bit brighter, cuz I was really NOT looking forward to rebuilding my characters, particularly since I may not have any clan help this time.

Yup, my server is AC 2...

UPDATE: Good news folks, the reinstall went perfectly fine and I kept everything for my MP characters.

Looks like it was the latest rebalance mod that got me tho. I really only had to delete all of my old saved game files to fix my problem, but didn't know this until I had uninstalled the first time. Once I reloaded, I had the same problem until I DID delete the old saves. (Running WinXP Pro: my docs & settings\all users\my games\microsoft freelancer) There is another folder in this directory that contains your MP key which I did not alter at all, which I believe is why I kept all of my characters.
