Yes the Titan does exsist,it is not a freighter though it is a Very Heavy Fighter,

Actually, most players agree that it isnt a wise choice to purchase the titan. Though it supports level 10 weapons, there are two other ships that do that are faster than the titan. These other two ships are cheaper but have less armour. I dont want to spoil any surprises but i can tell you where to get these ships and what they are called if u want.

I traded my Sabre for a Titan last night.....I have about 6 jumps left to get back to Planet Malta so I can have my damned Sabre back. Yeah, the Titan is a nice VHF with the strongest armor you can find, but in my opinion the armor improvement does NOT make up for the lack of maneuverability. Also, the turret can't fire forwards on the Titan without a mod, whilst on the Sabre it can....since I rely almost completely on guns, that's something I won't work with.

If you're getting it just to fight NPCs you'll be fine and dandy, but if you're into dueling and PKing? You'll be pretty much screwed, dude.

if you REALLY want to get into it, Reynen's mod Beta 6 has freighters that hold more and have more armor. But if you don't want to mod, I recommend a humpback.

Cheers guys the response has been great as some one who played the orginal Elite then Elite 2: Frontier its great to see the community spirit again as to ships i have got to the point where i have stuck with my humpback the great thins about is its got a great all roundand it take up to weapon class 7 i think i boought a Drom freighter on one serve but was very disapointed looked cool but i was not all that impressed with tit i would have rather have flown a Rhino.

The big prob i see with FL mp is that there aint enought co-op stuff to do with it if any of you played Elite 2 some of the missions you could do were excellent I.E planteray spying9photographing bases on planets and the same with stations and other big ass ships transporting people who were being hunted doing dodgy runs with dodgy cargo.

i mean it goes on and on i think some one needs to have a serious think about creating all the things in FL that made the ELite series so popular in fact i drag my old amiga out every now and again hook it up to my TV so i can sit and play it and did i make ELite status yup i did all theese years later i see th potential of FL but soem where along the line it went slightly awry me and my Mate who are both beta testers and have been gaming for roughly 22 years would love to see FL sorted so if theres any takers theres 2 smart alex's here with plenty of suggestions.
