Calling All PKers

Want help in running a persistent server? Want to setup a gaming session? Look no further!

Shura,
I love the laugh. You sound like Dr. Evil in Austin Powers.

That is the point of my character. I blow up unjust PK'ers. It should be fun. I havn't had the chance to do it yet, but I will soon. Defaultuser will be one of them.

Linear Prime,
I agree. Losing Cargo is not fun. Especially if you did a lot of work to get it where you are and now you have to go back and get it again. It isnt' just credits, it is playing time wasted. Makes the second attempt at running the goods no fun.

I have a diffrent opinion of PKers..... Many times I am playing with a friend and going on a mission to go get this weppon or what ever.... I really don't want to be disturbed by some @@##2 @77& &55 that has to feed his eago.... Sometimes I am forced into fighting some one when I really don't want to.... I am all for role playing when "I WANT TO" not when some one else forces me into it.... so please when you run accross me ask me first ... you allready want to roll play give me the same chance to choose wither or not I want to.... that is all I ask... yea i can join a server that doesn't allow PK.... but some times I want to roll play.... as many of you know that it can take many hours of play to get your credits up and the weppons you want....so it is best to pick one server and stay there....

There is a way that seams right to a man.... but in its end leads to distruction.....

On the occasions where I feel like taking on other players I normally do some cargo-jacking on the diamond run between Dresden and Tokyo, Hegoland in Sigma 13 being the best place to jack. I normally give the target a choice between dropping half the cargo or trying their luck. With busted tradelanes and a few Hornets backing me up, theres not much hope of running. If they do manage to get to a tradelane, they I'll follow until I catch them.

As a rule I don't take on anyone below level 20-25, as it's just not right picking on players who havn't got the firepower to fight back. If they fire on me though, then it's another matter entirely...

The way I see it, if you don't like PK get off the PK servers...
I run a clan out of AC2. The basis of the clan is to provide an alternative, more challenging game. The newbs I take on as wingmen usually wind up flying the dagger before we leave Liberty.
Our clan doesn't use level 10 capable ships. We still play out in the Unknown systems though.
And we PK. What is the point of a Clan System if you don't? We don't kill guys that are too weak...unless they fire on us first, or hinder the group. This usually means cheaters and newb PK'ers on Manhattan.
I cast my vote in support of PK - but I don't think a challenge always needs to be issued. That is contrary to the art of war...
We play Pirate Missions only. That is a part of our theme.

See you in Space...

Selerox,
Please play on Browclops server. We need some criminals like you. I want to Regulate some criminal a***ss, but there aren't enough bad guys deserving of a good a***ss regulating. I had some enemies, but they are nolonger to be found. I can't wait to see Dantevoodoo again. If you see this Dante, please come back so I can blow you up some more for killing my freighter and tractoring some of my loot.
Browclops is an awesome server. Tons of fun. So play there so I can rip you a new hole. Thanks!

I enjoy flying throught the border worlds in a small squadron of light fighters, or even alone in my banshee, killing every VHF we can find.

...no warning, no duel, like a knife in the dark

Someone needs to keep these armored-tub flyers on their toes...

Killing cheaters is a little difficult, as I do not cheat. I was banging away at a Sabre last night with hacked guns and cloak mod. I could not kill him, obviously. I got close a couple times, but then he would cloak... end of story.

kinda made me mad...

Easiest way to annoy cheaters is to kick/ban them.

My first PK experience on the Browclops server:

I am flying along with a friend in two brand new Drones, with the paint still shiney on them, and still using the stock shield and the guns of our previous rhino. We had just enough money left over to buy a full load of kick-start cargo for them each. We docked on planet Denver, and filled up on a load of optronics bound for houston. In tandem, we launched.

The first guy into space (me) immediately noticed a player contact about 4 clicks off. I sent my comrade a quick message (dont launch!) and turned around and made for the dock. I thought it was probably not a big deal, but at the time I wasn't willing to take chances and it behooved me to be a little paranoid. I didn't make it though. The pirate flew up at full afterburner and hammered me to oblivion, destorying my ship, and burning up all of my bots/bats before I could make it to safety. Apon respawn, I was greeted with a "Damnit!" from my comrade, and learned that he too had died in the attack.

So here we are with about 5k credits between us, and a cargo hold so empty you could house a concert in the available space. We cried. We moaned. We cursed. Finally, we resolved to build up a starter stake through some missions, and then multiplied our money quickly with double-your-money runs of water and such, 1 tradelane in distance. (pittsburg to Fort Bush: Water forward, boron back is a good PERCENT profit run until the holds are filled, though horrible on actual profit). We moved on. We recovered. And we learned from the experience.

You know what? I want to thank that guy. He gave us one hell of a great introduction to the server! We learned to always be wary and on edge. We learned that we should always watch the player list to see which potential threats were to be found in a system. We learned to only expose one member of a group at one time, if ossible. And most of all, we learned that PKing was ok, and fun if done properly, without remorse, without guilt, and without discrimination. The game became 10 times as fun after that moment.

Once we had our eagles we hunted that Pirate down and killed him mercilessly, as he struggled to get into dock before we had him. It was a rush. Revenge too, is part of the game. And occasionally, when we are bored, we will randomly select a player of middle to high level, and hunt him down like a dog. Is this wrong? I think not. I took my licks, and the least everyone else can do is the same, before they get hot under the collar.

I am 100% with you DefaultUser. The game is too easy as it is. PKing takes the game to another level, a level where you must be wary, and trust no one. That sounds to be the kind of game I remembered wanting to buy in the first place.

Wow! Awesome Gung_Ho! Thank you for your bit on this forum. Let me know the name of the player that killed you when you were low level. I want to blow him up too. And if you could get me every once in a while I would appreciate it. That way I could get revenge on you. There aren't enought players to get revenge on. You are a very welcomed addition to the Browclops server as far as I am concerned. I don't have the heart to blow up anyone that doesn't diserve it, so I need someone to do the crime so I can make them pay. Great job getting revenge!!! Keep up the great work!!! Seeya on Browclops.

So I was on browclops last night and was dueling someone who definitely had a speed mod/hack/cheat, or whatever you want to call it (cheat in this case since its not allowed on browclops... right!). Anyway, it gave me much satisfaction to pummel this kids ship into a million particles, and to hear him say at the end 'I died!' mwahhahahaaa, fear the justice of the not so dyslexic candy bar.

However... there is one particularly arrogant player that is currently on my hit list. They don't mod to my knowledge, but I'm going to destroy them when I see them next, simply because they believe themselves to be a far superior pilot than everyone else. I hate people who attempt to give bad advice in an authoratative manner.

Beware the prowler...
...she hunts tonight-

Does anyone else name their ship?
