The problem, is that some people will use a MOD to get a super strong weapon or shield, or to get cash to buy something, and then enter a pvp duel or something. They are then basically unbeatable, or else, can buy something without even doing a mission or earning money for it, thare for taking away the meaning of money or a fair fight in the game. Say you were shiping diamonds to get money, when some one attacks with weapons that give a one-hit kill. You would then lose all your cargo, and thats probably a lot of money. Or if you just want to have a duel, and then someone warps in with thrusters that do 100,000m/sec. and don't use any after burn, and shoots you both down in two shots, then takes all the loot (if you have any cargo). There went your days fun.

If you want to use MODs, some people set up servers where cheating is allowed, and/or the server may already have MODs applyed that affect everyone.

Also, I have heard that some MODs can occationaly crash a server... or two... or three... or ten... you get the picture.

So, is there not a way to block those using MODs?

in some cases the person who is running the has to be using mods in order for them to show up in the server. and people who wish to play on that sever must be running the same mods as the server is. if not if try take off from manhatten you will will kick off the game before you even start.
