Clans how do they work?

I've seen pretty many clan servers, but how does that work? You can't have clanwars can you? I mean if two different clans meet at a server some will be level 1.

You can always use a mod for clan wars, aswell wars can work with some clans use the same server, like those stuff going on elite.

massive starcracker wars in newyork works for clan wars, nothing wrong with it
