Will they think I cheat?!?

I noticed that this T... de Cid gun doesn't have a tracer, pretty sure it is a bug rather than a "feature" (but then this is a MS game... ) . I wonder if what ever cheat detection systems there are would think I'm cheating if I manually add it back in?

it might since it doesn't know how harmful a mod could be

I know exactly what your talking about CW and have to ask why you would want to add an FX to an invisible weapon. It would seem that a gun that shoots invisible beams would be a great assett.

I think it might be a feature.

The Borroco and the Rapier have neither a graphic, and same type guns of different levels often don't share graphics, so I don't think it's a bug.

But if you put it back, won't having data different from the servers crash the server?

changing the effects will only affect it for whoever has the changes- you may see it, but everyone else wont

I have seen many times over...that people modding DOES make servers unstable

Today, my server has restarted itself about 5-10 times...(Haven't been here all day) and reports from my Argonian Ryders...tell me that just about every time there's a crash...a modder IS present.

One dork brought a Nomad Battleship into my game....

Doesn't ANYONE read the damn server news?

Anyway...Modding and Cheating although CAN be the same thing...Most of the time...Modders will add new ships and stuff...but the modders that mod to cheat...they are the bad ones. However I do not believe the server can tell the difference.

Most mods you can put on your system, only you and whomever else has the mod will see it. SOMETIMES...the server will be affected by this. If a PC is flying in such a way that the server has trouble monitoring it....then it may crash.

Something Awful

Modded players indeed decrease server stability/free cpu load.

I saw someone last week using a strange vessal (big comet) with 8 guns on it on my server. It was 5 times larger then my Humpback !!

When I flew passed it, he shot some torpedoes/missiles at me (looked modded too). He probably did not know i host the server myself and when he launched the missiles : MAAAAN server went from 10 to 20Msec within one Msec !! Double the time due to one modder !! I banned him and I had to restart the server to get back at normal level in Msec. Everyone experienced some heavy lag at that moment...

I had to password my server due to too many cheaters/modders who f*ck up stability/free cpu load. I had some Nomad Batteships visiting my server too and ofcourse those suckers starting with LVL38 in Newyork in a Starflier. They think we are crazy or what?

Well, this was about my personal experience with modders/cheaters. It's a shame I had to password my server and remove all the accounts, but now I have control over the accounts and it will keep cheaters / modders more away then before.
