Playing on own Server

Since I had no Internet Connection this weekend I tried running the server program and playing MP on my own machine. Didn´t work out, Freelancer didn´t "see" the LAN Server running on the same machine.

Got a 2.6GHz with half a gig RAM, WinXP Home Edition with all necessary upgrades and Freelancer 1.0

Can anyone tell me what the problem is?
