I'm thinking of setting up a service on Elite, kinda in the same sense as the RES, however, this service will be aimed mostly at merchants and traders looking to make a fairly bit more profit on their cargo runs.

For a 20% commission on whatever load is carried on our freighters, CMI will ship additional commodities alongside your ship to anywhere in the sector, with a virtually guaranteed delivery (Neutral rep with all but 3 insignificant groups

) adding a substantial profit to every trade run you make.

Example: You are shifting 250 Lux Consumer goods from Manhatten to Cambridge. For the purchase cost of an additional 275 Lux consumer goods + 20% commission on arrival at destination, you are shifting an additional 225 units of lux consumer goods. This equates to roughtly 141,750 more credits for you after this rather basic cargo run.

So, what do people think? I may expand it to include storage space for anyone who may be doing mining missions.

Just a few more days, and i'll finally be able to play this game online. I'm looking forward to it. Hope I don't meet too many bullies at first.

Interesting idea Baz. It could be helpful... i might hire your "service" when(if) i can afford it.

I don't see too many bullies on this server. I have so many friends now its all I can do to keep track of everyone. And there are those that look out for others. Liberty Space is safe, so you can level up to a point where you can defend yourself. When your ready to buy a killer fighter or high capacity freigher you can ask myself or one of the boys here to fly along as an escort. I don't mind and I personally don't charge. Now escorting freight runs is a different matter; you would want to hire the RES. But I don't mind providing a little close air support when you are ready to upgrade. This is the friendliest server I have ever seen in any game. But I don't get out much.

In response to the original thread, I would hire you in an instant. I have a VHF which barely holds a set of golf clubs. I would gladly pay the fee and buy the freight in order to maximize my profit on money runs. And I could fly wing on the freighter too and help protect my own investment. I think fighter owners would be just as interested if not more so. Lets do it.

Yeah, If i see you guys around I plan on hiring you to help me out while mining, I recently became poor again, and the long mining run between Tau-37 and The Ring just isnt worth the 45 cargo units I have. If it were 265 units, that would be a different story.

Ah yeah, NEO accepts jobs like escortin' and attackin people... Our rates are prolly a lil steeper though... But we do offer pretty much absolute protection against NPCs, not to mention against the random PKer...

Bah, yeah but I don't see NEO flying around in Light Fighters or freighters...

You see, everyone in the RES & Cargo Movers Inc. came out of the loony bin. Why else would we fly Light Fighters and Freighters?

I would also be interested in this "Feighter for Hire" scheem. Sometimes, it becomes boring running the same trade routes over and over. I fly a Dromedary under the call name of either Panzer or Panzer_Guderian on Elite and other servers. Currently I am Lvl 50 on Elite and will stay in a Dromendary until I find out what the max level is with the new patch.

Well I hired Bazman the other day to help me mine niobium, and trade a bit, and I must say it was worthwhile, I went from 300,000 credits to 1,200,000 credits in approximately an hour and a half (?). If I did all of that just in my banshee, I would have gotten to maybe 700,000 credits at most in that time.
