I've been hearing rumors about war with WP, SW, LD, and some other clans I can't remember at the moment. Does anyone know if RES is at war, if so with whom, and how on earth did it develope again?

First off, yes you can join Soul, you are a rather good light fighter pilot and we'd love to see you among our ranks.

Cynicism, yes we are at war with WP
Luckily, I've found them to be terrible pilots, and this is all out guerilla combat style war, no arranged battles, you see a WP member, you track him down, thats an order to everybody in the clan. TTY1 have taken our side on this, as has ManOWar, whose clan alliance I am unsure of, if he has any. NEO and I have been attempting to contact the leader of WP, Crying Devil, but so far we haven't seen him. Binage, Skorp, and Jak are the three main targets we are going for, they are the priority, if you see them, track them.

To explain why were at war, plain and simple its because Skorp attacked at Gas Miner Ogashawa. He killed Havok and made him lose the lvl 8 shield I just bought for him, he also killed Cr1122 once, then we tracked him down and killed him 3 times in 3 battles, along with his friends Bin and Jak, and as a result war has been declared.

Please excuse my pontification.

My approach to Freelancer has been that PKing is part of the game. People will PK lower players, hence those players may wish to purchase protection from pilots like ourselves, organized in a group (which has been mentioned as *not* a clan for some time) called RES. This group (I thought) was a bunch of pilots who did not necessarily have clan affiliations and who would try to hold off all comers from the client. Nowhere in my conception of RES does war occur. Now in less than a week we have been involved in two wars brought about by PKing incidents, and an order has been issues to the "clan."

It's been a week since I've escourted anyone. I'm reduced to piloting a Dromodary for Niobium runs for cash. The worst part of it is that wartime is exactly when people should need protection from marauding pirates. What's going on? What happened to our loose affiliation? Or did I have it wrong from the beginning?

Admittedly, RES is not my brainchild and I do not and have not claimed a leadership role. But I may have been mistaken about the intentions of the orginization. Hellmaster, could you help me sort out what exactly is the nature of RES?

Also, I was willing to participate in the war against TTY1 because I believed they had declared war. In this case it seems like war was declared by RES, which is contradictory to my understanding of the nature of the group. I will not be participating except to return fire when fired on, unless a better case is made to me than "well, they pked members of a group that claims to protect others from pkrs." It seems like that's an occupational hazard.

You went to war over the ****ing shield? Ugh. The only way I'm fighting WP is if they fire on me first. And I gave up the soapbox, too.

Well I have seen d3vil in the field as it were, and he seems fairly determined to fight, claiming things like "it was a mistake to kill skorp". when i pointed out that skorp attacked us with no warning and no provocation, he responded "yeah, right". but we all saw skorp openly admit that last night... (including some neutral witnesses such as various members of NEO).

NEO will remain neutral in this, but I just can't resist pointing out that WP_Jak lost a duel to Hellmaster who was flying a Valkyrie ( Jak was in a Sabre ).

Uhhhh... we are at war again?! Sheesh.... this clan stuff is really getting on my nerves... I joined RES, because I wanted to help the casual players on long and dangerous trade runs, however, from what i have seen today, every time we protect from a potential PKer, we get a declaration of war... Why cant i just play without getting shot up by someone who wants to declare war on me?!

(Now I see one reason why we have no tags... makes us harder to spot.)

I agree with Cyn im here to have fun not "hunt" people down.

but you fire on me or others with out provcation then i will defend(if i die oh well) and ill give as much support to RES as long as it dosent conflict with my morles or values

if need to be ill leave RES and go on my own to have fun

so eatiher lets end this quickly or forget about it lets just get back to having fun
