Digital Anvil needs your help!

There's a new message on the DA Patch server that says the following.

-----------------------
We're still tracking two server crashes. We've enabled some detailed logging measures to help isolate the problems when they occur again. If you have any information about what's causing these crashes, send mail to [email protected]
-----------------------

So there you have it.. If anyone knows what may be causing server crashes, e-mail that guy.

I remember hearing some lamer here say he could still crash that server with a speed cheat. Anyone with info on this cheat should e-mail [email protected] and let him know about it.

He's the MP guru from DA.

Post Wed Apr 23, 2003 8:54 pm

.......and he can't figure it out himself? Tell me, how do you create something and then not even know how it works or how to repair it?

Back off Hand Solo. Please do not speak under the guise of content you know nothing about. Jeez man!!! How dare you!

That's just the way to get something fixed...bitch out the VERY person who is going to offer up a solution to our problems. Man, that just eeerks me to no end. You should be ashamed of your inconsiderate stance.

Show me ANYTHING you've created and then let me make a grandiose statement about your shortcomings if and when you'd have the guts to ask for help/advice on how to improve on it.

i hear info about about a "server patch" but what exactly will it contain? And what are the issues it's trying to address?

Post Thu Apr 24, 2003 12:47 am

The patch is concentrating on a few items for sure and probably a few other smaller issues. Read about the details here .

Since that original post DA has been evolving the patch based on information received since that post and added a few new items. Some of which are a guarded secrets but rest assured, Digital Anvil has been keeping an open line of communication with it's fan base...even if it does appear to be a one way street sometimes. It's a known fact they enjoy visiting this site and as they did during testing...they listen VERY well. As a testament, I don't think I've ever met such bright, cordial people in my gaming carrer. Remember, I'm one of the older peeps here.

Inconsiderate? You know what "eeerks" me to no end? The fact that they (and most companies these days) would have the nerve to sell a product this defective in the first place! Now that is inconsiderate! The server side of this game is not even functionable. Forget calling it bugged, it is absolutely, totally unstable! Then there are a ton of bugs on top of that like all the docking problems that the consumer should have NEVER even seen and yet, months later, here we are.......still.

dont fight with the mod unless your planning on visiting banville anytime soon

Post Thu Apr 24, 2003 4:49 am

Idiot. Beta 1196 was more stable and complete than most retail games out there now, and you're telling us 1.0 is buggy? I can think of maybe only one or two minor bugs at the moment, seriously, what are you smoking? FL is one of the most stable and bug-free games I've seen in quite a while. I wouldn't be complaining.

Post Thu Apr 24, 2003 4:57 am

I'm talking about, as was obvious to anyone with a brain, the SERVER, not single player....Tard. It's completely unstable, it's not even debateable.

I couldn't care less. I don't play the boring ass game anymore. It was cool off and on for about 2 weeks, but after that, there nothing left to do at all. It's the most boring game I have EVER seen or could possibly imagine. I actually fall asleep playing it online. It only takes one hand and takes like 1/2 and hour just to go anywhere......boooooooooooooooooooooooooooring.

Watching a random channel on TV with no signal, just static, is more fun than this game is online.

Yes, Freelancer was VERY stable during the last beta stage. Oddly enough, some weird bugs arised somehow between the final beta to retail, like the mission 3 bug. But those can be remedied and bugs are expected. No biggie. Games being out "uncompleted with bugs" is a cliched response. Tiring too.

Freelancer is a stable game. The multiplayer is stable. The only thing they left out, for some unknown reason, was the cheat protection. And even then, its not a big deal. It's not like your going to die or your house is going to be evicted JUST BECAUSE Freelancer has a few issues. Be patient.

Some bugs do not get seen untill the games hit the market, but I know of quite a few should have been seen in testing.

Post Thu Apr 24, 2003 5:16 pm

Hand Solo,

If you could not care less, then why are you even posting here? If the game is sooooo boring, leave and play something else. Duh.

Wow... hand solo has the perfect way to make friends heh heh heh
Really though, try to look at the glass as half full, not half empty. The DA guy was trying to get help, so he could help.
