Stinger: I know that, but you may want to consider this.
ASE makes it's own server lists and uses 6 globals to do it, meaning there is never a problem with server listing, even if one of theirs crashes.
ASE can update the entire list and poll all of the servers in about 10 seconds for broadband players. No more waiting for minutes for Freelancer to fully update the server list to see if a sever actually is full or not.
ASE gives you information such as total hops, ping fluxuations, and can poll a full server till it has an open slot and fire up FL automatically.
ASE tells you what nation the server is located in.
What wil happen in the future for FL support:
The ability to configure ASE to hunt for servers running mods such as the Babylon 5 mod.
The ability to view server news panels before entering the game.
The ability to poll for machine and connections specs.
Even if you don't normally use ASE, I can say one thing that makes it a invaluble
tool to have.
Less than 8 hours after ASE gained FL support, it proved it's worth by being able to get a server list, ping it, and succesfully get freelancer to connect to an internet server,
all while Microsoft's global was down and out for the count .
I highly reccomend tools like ASE and Game Spy, simply because they stomp in-game browsers into the ground. It up to the user to use them.
